Thread: Composiste armour segments
Kinetic composiste, I didn't worry about HAM, I'm am only making 4 piece suits for tasks such as hunting whilst buffed - something almost "disposable" and cheap for my guildmates
So far I have got: 3 x Kinetic layers at 3% base (a very high 3%) and 5% kin
and my composiste segemtns are now in the factry churing away at: 16% kin 19% base (high end)
Any idea where abouts my resists will end up, only a 10pt smith and my resoucres are around the 800 mark in SR and OQ.
As it is my first run I was wonderin HOW far off the pace am I. I am worried about my 19% base on my segments how bad is that going to lower the overall quality of the armour.

Hmm... with 19% base on the seg, I'd think something in the 45% rangewould be about the best you could squease out. Althought you'll definately hit 80% kinetic resist.

19% base is a bit low... 30% base on the seg should be doable with the resources you have.
To put that last point in perspective, with average 900+ (OQ/SR) resources I can hit 35% base on the segment (with some decimals floating around there that push it over the mark). This roughly translates to 71% base resist on the final combine. Granted, I am a 12 point smith - but I was easily able to hit 70% base with those segmentsbefore I got any of my tapes ![]()
Next time you're crafting try this out:
Push the base resist of your kinetic layers until you break 4%, thenpush the special resist until it too is over 4% (assuming it isn't already, which it usually is but you never know...), and put any remaining points into durability. When put into the segment, these should produce a 20-25% base resist and 12-13% kinetic resist (prior to any experimentation). With the segment, push the base resist to maximum and put any remaining points into durability again. Repeat this with the final combine, and you should break through to around the 60% odd base area.
