Can new patterns (stripes, grids, different colors) be put on armor?

Here's my story. I once got a custom order for Red & Black mabari with stripes on the skirt. I explained that the colors were not a problem but I can't add stripes. My customer bought the suit anyway and insisted it could be done. Later on he sent me tell saying he found an ID who did it for him. It wasn't long after this that I saw a MAS MID in a black and white suit of padded with grid pattern on it. Something very differnet from the standard color combos I can add as an MAS.

I assumed this was an ID thing. However every ID I've asked from Novi to Master has said either not possible or no clue.

What gives? Is there anyone who knows how to add patterns to armor and who does it?

Thanks in advance,

Vinter

No, once armor is made you can not change the color of it. The only exception being Composite and they have no color designs, just a single color per piece.

What you must have saw was someone wearing armor and tailor clothes for an outfit.

I'm quite sure it was a padded chest plate with the grid design, not clothes. Also it doesn't explain the guy who told me an ID put stripes on his mabari skirt. I guess he could have been lying to me but that seems highly unlikely.

As both an MA and MT, there's no current, legitimate way to modify clothing or armor colors to get stripes, or any other patterns unless they are inherent in the design (Flex form shirt, muscle shirt)

I've heard rumors of stripes before, tho, so it may be something only a few people know about, and likely to be qualified as an exploit...

Yet another thing that needs to be added.

If small decals could be added to armor, we could truly start to eliminate the clones.

I'd like to see armor age visually as well (Imagine a nice rusty suit of comp)
