Thread: PSGs resistances

Hello - made some PSGs reciently (after 9.0)the lightsaber resistance shows up when the PSG is first created (or removed from crate.)

The resistance goes away after logging and returning to the server.

(The same happens on tantel armor.)

Are PSGs supposed to have LS resists or not? Also, does the resistance actually work in combat?

I hope this bug can be sorted out soon. I've slated up a run of imperial PSGs and am holding off on production until I have a better answer. (I do not want to sell borked PSGs.)

Would you care to test out a 400 year old sword to see if it's decayed to condition 0? All the prior testers have no comment. Perhaps a gun which was used in WW I and still fires with high accuracy upto 1km?

If that doesn't get you, then start reading current military specifications for combat equipment.

A jedi told me that the LS resist does work, as many BHs that have hunted him seem to take less damage. It is pretty buggy, but the LS remains as a resist as long as you don't go to a loading screen (either by logging, taking a shuttle, or at server reset).

I don't know if they are meant to have this resist or not, but I advertise them as having it, and no one has complained so far

i have been told by a CSR (bria) that if it does infact show LS resistance it is a bug

however i have tried them out and it does work, i do take less damage from LS as opposed to if i didnt have it on

so its a very buggy situation that needs to be fixed and hopefully theyre working on it

they still do sell though because of the stun resist, etc..

I am a bounty Hunter and they do work but you need to be aware of the bugs.

You need to keep your PSG crated until the last minute and equip just before you are ready to attack the Jedi.

Using a shuttle, loging off or crossing a Server Boundary while equiped or even in your inventory un-equiped seems to create the bug and your PSG loses its LS resist. So they are a one use device against Jedi atleast that is how I use them but more often its the difference between incapping the Jedi or me going down. Taking damage reduction food and equiping a good PSG and the Jedi is going to the cloner

Keep up the good work and get those resist as high as possible a BH with any knowledge will know how to make sure he can use the PSG without borking it.

cool - thanks for the feedback. I read somewhere that LS resist was intended on PSGs (this was a while ago.) guess their 'fix' for LS resist landing on any armor made by schematic pre 9.0 and crated was to kludge the resists on these 'server load' points.

guess I should crate tantel armor too??? (Don't think I can get 27% base...)

I find when psg shows it has LS resist it works for all other listed resists as well , though, never tried against LS damage. Anyhow after I go though logging screen psg stops working all together does not stop anyof remaining listeddamage types. Equiping and un equiping does not fix like it did last time this bug effected psg's for intent and purposes they are totally bugged and need to be fixed asap.

yea, but they are selling beacuse no one knows they do nothing against stun weaps ar1 or greater, lol, or are not suppose to.. i quote

PSGs do not function against AP weapons Personal Shield Generators do nothing against armor piercing weapons. This may or may not be a bug, but be aware that your PSG will do nothing (not even function as light armor) against that sniper with a T-21.

can someoen verify this or tell me if this is bunk info, its quoted form a sticky on this forum, and i just found it buried in there and am tryign to find out

If PSG's are not effective against AP weapons, why would they have an Armor Value of 1?

Having been using PSG's since P9 I've found that there protection is spotty at best, though I have yet todo any controlled tests on them. I may have to rectify that next weekend

perhaps that 'sticky' has some merit.

I used my stun armor and a crummy psg against a jawa gun. The psg stopped aproximately 4% of the jawa damage (which was the stun effectiveness on it.) incidently so did my 4% composite armor.

I haven't tried a psg against an AP1+ enegy weapon. Maybe I'll give it a try later. I do have some BH friendswho are going to "test" crated tantel. Their last test subject was unavailable for comment...
