Check SWGCraft.com and make a list of the resources you'll need for WS. Also check to see what the server-best resources of each type are for your server. If you have the money start buying them. If you're low on cash, just harvest them as they spawn, and upgrade your stock as better stuff comes along (or buy the good old spawns when you get the cash). Even after you get the master tag you will need a good resource collection to get started. Good luck to you.

Starting out from scratch with 1 char as a WS will be difficult, no doubt. It will takequite a bit of research, harvesting, and of course, the initial grind is a bit rough if you don't have a lot of Thoranium Steel, Skevon Reactive Gas, and Hydron-3 inert gas.
Then, once you're master, you'll have to start stockpiling resources. I'm lucky enough to be on Tempest, where we have www.asiabrothers.com, the best resource site for SWG, but there are plenty of other good ones out there. Check those sites daily as to what is spawning and jump on it.
That's when you'll run into lot issues. At first you can probly get by with 1 or 2 factories, but eventually you'll want to expand.
Anyways, these guys who have already replied have given more than enough info, but to answer your question..... Yes, it's more than possible. Just be efficient and smart about it, and you'll do well for yourself.

Everyone gets to reassign their spent skill points, so you don't need to regrind.

I just started last week, I decided to be a Rifleman, I am thinking going Pistoleer 0/4/0/4(is that the proper format?), and was thinking either Master Commando, or Master Squad Leader.
Could you help and give the pro's and cons of Commando and Squad Leader as supplement to my Master Rifleman? That is if I shouldn't scrap the plan anyways because both are horrid choices.

They tie up your factories for a long time. They are also a bit of a pain to make.

Thermals have been horribly nerfed, but the others aren't too bad. But, in comparison to other weapons, grenades really aren't too useful anymore.
