Rancor padded Armor Segment (Exceptional)
Base Effectiveness: 60%
Integrity: 5525
Health Encumbrance: 3
Action Encumbrance: 11
Mind Encumbrance: 11
Heat Effectiveness: 68%
Cold Effectiveness: 23%
I consider them a collectors item for now, but if they fix it some day then the padded armor made with this is going to have some nice/crazy stats.
Is this true? If so, why have segment drops at all?
I think this should be a FAQ but I've not seen it anywhere? What are the relative values of these segments based on the stats? Is there an algorithm for this so Rangers know what to charge for them?
Thanks,

THANKS for this great post. My other character is a nov as and this really helped to clear a few things up.

PSG don't actually work as described. Best I can figure out they only work if you don't have armor covering where you get hit ... that or they are totally useless and just decay without any protection given.
Question:
Thus, if you had a 16% base segment, and created armor with the above materials, you should end up with a 48% base effectiveness composite helm (assuming you managed to hit the cap of 76% in Experimental Quality).
SoI understand how to determine weighted average attributes. So lets say we end up 845 for resources, that means we can experiment up to 84%. With a 19% segment my base is 54%, but I dont understand how it got there. The above example uses a 16% base segment and resources that cap at 76% experimentationand you predicted a 48% base. How did you determine that? I'd like to know what my armor will yield based on resources before random trial and error but I'm missing a step.
Thanks!
