Thread: The Complete Guide to Armor and Armorcrafting

I just started Armorsmith late last night (or early this morning, I forget).

Can anyone tell me how much I should expect to pay for synth cloth? Let's say for a stack of 1k. Perhaps a range, depending on the quality, of course.

Thank you! I just want to be sure I don't get ripped off by a Tailor. I might just get Novice Tailor just so I can make them myself, but then my question would be:

Can anyone tell me how much I should expect to pay for a Wearables Factory? Perhaps a range, depending on the quality, of course.

Thanks, armorsmiths!

I am paying 2500 credits to 4000 credits for each crate of 25 synthetic cloth segments on Bria Server.

I make my own fiberplast, reinforced, sythetic cloth crates, but i sell between 3k and 4k per crate of 25

The good thing about rancor segments beeing bugged is that they are cheap to buy! Managed to get my hands on 5 of theese for only 2500cr in total, all with the same serial.

Rancor padded Armor Segment (Exceptional)
Base Effectiveness: 60%
Integrity: 5525
Health Encumbrance: 3
Action Encumbrance: 11
Mind Encumbrance: 11
Heat Effectiveness: 68%
Cold Effectiveness: 23%

I consider them a collectors item for now, but if they fix it some day then the padded armor made with this is going to have some nice/crazy stats.

I've been told by Master Armorsmiths that Looted Armor Segments (Voritor Lizard, Rancor Padded Armor, etc...) are not worth anything because the advanced segments that can be crafted are much better than the looted segments.

Is this true? If so, why have segment drops at all?

I think this should be a FAQ but I've not seen it anywhere? What are the relative values of these segments based on the stats? Is there an algorithm for this so Rangers know what to charge for them?

Thanks,

Thnks for this info. I have a question tho. Pls explain this krayt segments and scales more. What exactly happens when u use them? Can additional layers be added? can they be sliced? whats the enc difference between those and normal ? Also pls explain NS shards. I am not an AS so I cant test and understand but I am heavily involved in PvP and have the ability to collect these lootd items on large amounts. So I want to know if its really worth to collect them. For instance I have segments as high as 31% shards around 16 scales 7 to 13%. I have talked to some AS to understand this. But they only made me more confused. I would be grateful if u explain this and also state how many is required for each part. Thx in advance.

Very, very heavy reading there but a brilliant guide, no doubt I'll look back to this after I've finished the grind to novice armoursmith.

PSG don't actually work as described. Best I can figure out they only work if you don't have armor covering where you get hit ... that or they are totally useless and just decay without any protection given.

Would you care to test out a 400 year old sword to see if it's decayed to condition 0? All the prior testers have no comment. Perhaps a gun which was used in WW I and still fires with high accuracy upto 1km?

If that doesn't get you, then start reading current military specifications for combat equipment.

Question:

Thus, if you had a 16% base segment, and created armor with the above materials, you should end up with a 48% base effectiveness composite helm (assuming you managed to hit the cap of 76% in Experimental Quality).

SoI understand how to determine weighted average attributes. So lets say we end up 845 for resources, that means we can experiment up to 84%. With a 19% segment my base is 54%, but I dont understand how it got there. The above example uses a 16% base segment and resources that cap at 76% experimentationand you predicted a 48% base. How did you determine that? I'd like to know what my armor will yield based on resources before random trial and error but I'm missing a step.

Thanks!
