Thread: New wookie armor- resource requirements

I've accepted the fact that I'll probably have to pay quite a bit for my new armor, but can an experienced armorsmith let all the wooks who are now flooding to this forum with no knowledge of smithing some info on the requirements for the armor?
We will gather our own resources (well, the non-lazy of us anyway) if nessesary.
Barring the craptastic Horn Requirement, what should we be looking for? Some people mentioned Corellian Wooly Hide, which drops slowly. I don't mind grinding an hour or two for a small stack of hide to give to my smith. What resources are extremely rare in High Quality that we should either be on the lookout to buy, or harvest ourselves?
I don't know if HQ evergreen soft wood is rarer than HQ Yavinian Evergreen or what, for an example. I do suppose I'll be picking up Novice Artisan for a bit though....

I started gathering resources last night. Luckly my crafter friends are helping me gather some of these resources aswell. But I am very very disappointed that they require a loot component.
This is not RIS, this is not even close to Mando armor.....what are these developers thinking!

I am dissapointed in the lack of foresight from the Devs on issues like this. Hopefully they will listen to the community and drop the horn requirement

This is a very cruel joke right? If not I do not see there being many Wookiees about...

Has anyone tried looting any horned creatures on Dant since this went onto TC? Not /harvest but /loot
I'd try, but I'm presently armorless and a wee bit shy of Novice Swordsman - can't use PowerHammer yet.
As someone suggested, Bols, Pikets are horned. Need horns....
Probably wishful thinking on my part though.

Tested and verified—at least as of yesterday, horn was not harvestable, nor lootable from "logical" creatures on Dantooine. That said, this is TestCenter. Half-finished publishes are the norm…it's possible that the horn acquisition code simply isn't in yet. I don't believe that…but it's possible.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but I imagine there are only 11 segments required for a full suit.
If this is the case, then it's not quite so expensive in terms of animal resources required. It also means that layering won't consume nearly as much resources as composite.
I'm ok with this as long as the horn requirement is removed.

Joy of Joy!
Here's the qote for those quite lazy:

On Chilastra, we had an excellent Corellian Wooly a couple of weeks back. Armorsmiths were posting that they were paying up to 120cpu for it, and getting no takers. I have a ranger so I tried to get some myself. As a Ranger with a droid and food (to get as much as humanly possible) I was able to harvest just shy of 7k Corellian Wooly over the course of a WEEK. I am not lazy, but there is no way I am ever going to sell Black Mountain armor. For me, Im not worried about the Horn because obviously they are going to either remove it or add something that drops horn...but for the Corellian Wooly...that we will be stuck with.
Just try Corellian Wooly for a night, maybe it wont be so bad.

As for the corellian wooly hide, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD change that requirement to either dath, dantooine, Lokian, or endorian wooly at least these can be harvested in larger quantities and you can actually get missions for them.
Ill edit myself If Im wrong, but dont give the developers any worse ideas! As far as I know, there is nothing that drops Dath Wooly! And Lokian Wooly, have you ever tried to get that? It drops off of Langlatches, which cant be spawned via missions!

Note from Vass courtesy of the In Test thread, horn requirement has been changed to a more reasonable request. Sounds like full info won't be available until a hotfix/server reset/whatever it is they do.
Good job, everyone.

I still feel for wookies with some of the requirements (even without the horn).
I tried the hunting gig for a bit. Avian Meat, Wooly hide. Then I found out that Tat Avian drops off of Nuna's and that was about it for me. I am not going to role out into the wilderness and hund Nuna's for hours so I can get 2.2K of meat for a 100 stack of buffs. That an you can at least get Nuna missions. Corellian avian does not even come off terms, you need to randomly search if you are not ranger, and ranger tacking is broken half the time in any case.
I do not understand why there is not high level content, that is fun and challenging to fight, that drops these important resources. Leave the Nuna's dropping important resources sure, but add some super Nuna's or something for the masters out there.
It would only improve the fun for everyone. The actual collection of organics would be more enjoyable and the quantity would be a lot more reasonable.

As I said in the TestCenter thread, dropping the Horn requirement is welcome but actually frightening if it means the Devs had no plan for how we were supposed to get it.
We can now reasonably wonder whether the Dev who picked the resources knew the implications of Corellian bunny fur, or all that wood.
It's a fair question Jaato, and you should press for an answer: how exactly was the resource list selected? Do they think anyone will scour Corellia for durnis? Were the wood requirements intended to keep the quality down, or just there to sound Wookish?
