...is the bane of my existence.

My own fault. I LOVE wearing my Master Ranger tag and over the past three days I'v gotten a ton of requests for it (most only offering compensation if I found it). Anyways, I've seen it in the past to the east and south of Theed, usually within 2km or so. Anyone know of any pattern (for this as well as other high end 'named' critters)?

I've actually never seen one on live, but on TC they seem to hang out in the Northwest area of the map. If you do an advancered search for peko albatross on the Ranger boards you should find a bunch of posts saying where people have seen them. The good news is that I've read a bunch of posts stating that they resemble normal spawns - after you kill the first another will spawn and so on and so forth. Good luck!!

On my server I've seen these mostly E of Keren. Also south and west of Kaadara, usually within 2-3km.

I've had great fun getting squished by these brutes in the area from the western map edge / cliffs along the beach towards Theed.

Unless I happen to be REALLY close to one when it lands or is near a factory etc, I've often thought it's an ordinary Peko further away until I target it and find its 90m away not the 40m it looks like... (did that make any sense?)

Killed by one without attacking it first? You have to recall wrong, they aren't aggressive .

They are a rare spawn. I have only seen them South East of Naboo. Found them by accident. The one thing to remember, if you kill one, wait at the spot it spawned because another might spawn within a very short period of time. My guild mates and I got three one night.

Ah yes, some info about my 'findings' about them would probably be an idea too...

I have killed "countless" albys by now, every single one of them has been somewhere in the northern area of naboo (from the far east edge to the far west edge), I never saw one farther southwards than 500m south of the "cliff" going from west to east.

One spawned next to me while doing a gualama lair yesterday.

I started conceal shooting it and it flew off in 2 seconds. I chased it and started conceal shotting it again. It dissapeared (poof) in less than 30 seconds and didnt respawn.

These are soo much fun to hunt. THe first time i ever went to track one, i found one!!! it was on the north shore of naboo , all i did was track every square inch of the beach, and boom! i found one. when i seen the word peko peko albatross on my tracking screen, my heart jumped into my throaght!!! but i looked all around, and couldnt see it.

i was looking at what i thought was a grey hill, but i turned out to be the back of the bird, i looked up, wayyyy up at the head!!

That bird dropped 11 feathers, after that me and 5 guys killed that one, a second spawned!! but that one didnt drop any feathers.

Once i had an offer of 500k if i found a peko peko albatross, but someone else found it before i even go a chance to leave theed.

In my experience they're like every other rare spawn; If You search for them (especially for hire) you'll never find anything. If you're out the wilderness picking your nose however, you have a much better chance of seeing one.

I was on yesterday morning, and was looking for something big to kill, west of Theed. I brought up the tracking window, and looked for some animals. What came up was some chubas, a spider or two, but right at the top was a peko peko albatross. The wierd part is I had just come from the direction it said to go, and it didn't come up at the bottom of the hill on the tracker.

I run back down the hill while telling a guild friend of mine that I found it, and there were not one but TWO albatrosses there. My friend used /findfriend to find me, and came roaring towards me in his AV-21. He is a TKM and Master Doc, and when he tried to kill it nothing happened. He didn't know they were immune to Kinetic cause this was the first one he had seen.

So he goes back into Theed to find a Swordsman with a Warhammer, which he found, and came back with him. The swordman proceded to kill the birdy and when he was done, he tried to consent to me so I could get the feathers, and it disappeared. I was in a solo group at the time which may be why it did't work. It turns out he was waiting for me to loot it first, and didn't take anything at all off of it.

Last weekend I tried to find a Blackblade Boar on Tat for the same friend. We checked the WPs we had and gave up because he had to log soon. On his way back to the shuttleport, he drove over one with his speeder, and commenced to killing it. I came up later and said, "Glad I could help." Later that day still on Tat I was killing some Banthas and it seems after they died another Boar spawned, so I killed it and got my own shiny object.

I suppose the moral of this story, is that you hope that there is someone you know on that needs one of these creatures, and just do what you do best. If someone ask me to find a rare creature I think I will tell them only if they hunt with me first.

TodayI found another spawn of the Albatross. I was cleaning up a lair and saw this yellow dot on the radar moving incredibly fast. Since conceal shot didnt work before (and it would probably take forever anyway)I decided to try to solo it with head shot. The thing pretty much kicked my butt, using every state effect (but no disease/poison)and knockdown. I had it to about 80% health but I was at 20% health soI jumped on the speeder and took off and it despawned.

But then another spawned soI called a mellee friend to tank it. We killed 4 and got 22 feathers total(8,3, none, and 11), not to mention about 200k worth of wooly off of each one (Naboo Wooly is the highest OQ+SR the sever has ever seen and that was why i was in the area to begin with ... 300 cpu easy)I even got killed by it when my buff ran out butI was happy to get 11 feathers.

I still thinkI can solo it (I can dream) if I had a entertainer buff, some 85%+kinetic composite and dizzy/knockdown food (of which i had none). Also if there are lairs nearby lead the Peko to it so it's area effect specials cause that spawn to aggro it.

i also noticed in the combat chat that the Albatross was hitting my swoop. But my swoop didnt show any damage. Maybe because it was area effect and not specifically targetted by the Albatross.
