i logged in for a few minute to test out power attack. it did a lot more damage as other posts have said. however, in my combat log it also included elemental damage for my attacks (combat log set to verbose). So did they put in elemental damage inas it was on test center or is there still another patch we are waiting for?

They took it out, but I suspect they left in some of the code the numbers show it is not working though

WellI don't see anyelemental damage in my combat logs... but the others say they see but no real changes. It is only there at the logs, doing actually nothing.

Quick question...how does one add elemental damage to a weapon?

You don't. some weapons inherently have it and some don't.

we can change the value of the amount of elemental damage on a weapon, but whether it has it or not is an innate ability of the weapon in question. most 'smiths don't bother raising it much above the default value as its believed to spend all experimentation points to either damage, then sac, or damage, then speed in order to spend your points most effeciently.

With PATCH 19, elemental weapon damage is suppose to start working correctly.

Hopefully now we will see crafters work on new pikes. I ahve been using the same VL I had since before the CU, since it converted over to be a very nice weapon, even better then my NSEL.

So, you think elemental damage will help our profession alot with dealing damage?

I don't even want to think about sabre elemental damage or ranged elemental damage pounding on us from a distance...

Is it worth it in any way, shape, or form to expiriment on the elemental damage of a weapon? Mostly thinking of the 2 elemental pikes (Cyro Lance and Electric Polearm), and assuming that elemental resistances are different on different things (could be). Would experimenting on the elemental damage instead of the regular damage still offer decent damage, or is it a waste to do as such?

The heavy lightning rifle has elemental damage as a experimentable branch. Lets say u've max'ed the damage line and got 3 points left, sac is 86 so put 1 point into sac and get 83 sac. Then there is no speed line ( everyone says DPS is meaningless and speed gives DPS), u cant experiment damage or sac, so what is left? Accuracy and elemental damage - u've got +11 acc if u used a low speed penalty stock, so the most desireable thing to experiment now is elemental damage. Ofcource u leave it till last - but without a speed line to tempt u into massaging the weapon's DPS then it's a valid option.

Especially since elemental damage is now stated and working. 948max + 43 elemental damage = 991 effective max (assuming resists are same for energy and electricity).

Also this is potentially the most powerful weapon in game. 1184 damage cap + elemental damage - Ive had a single pointamazing success give +3 elemental damage - Multiply this by the special attack multiplier ... not useless imho.

Id like the Dev to up the elemental damage output just a bit 1 point at a time for great successes just doesnt seem worth it. I do however use my last points in elemental dam as well, but it feels futile.

Welll i agree that elemental damage on most weapons seem worthless. However, on commando weapon, the elemental damage can be up to 120 added damage, and you got good resulst experimenting it. Looks especially at the rocket launcher: it has almost half of this damage as heat damage (if i recall well)
