Thread: Petition to add Armor Color Kits
I love the idea and most of the folks I know who aren't crafters do too. Who wouldn't want the option to change the color on their armour? Imagine if vehicles' color schemes were only changeable during the crafting process? There wouldn't be many happy folks with that either. Most people out there, myself included, love to customize the items they own ingame...this would only enhance that.

funny how the only people that want color kits are the AS's who do mainly factory runs. Which means, faster turn out for you, more sales for you - Lets poll and see how many are second char's who only do it for the credits. If my goal was to sell as much as I could, log on for a few hours a week, load factories and then play my Jedi or Jedi Wanta be char, then yes I would want coloring kits also. Get off the kits, we can't color clothing, we can't color houses, we can't color weapons. Go home get some paint and paint your blue jeans. But I do remember that seen, you know the one, where originally Han found the storm trooper armor that was purple and whipped out his paint kit and made it white so he would blend in better
I hate posts like this... you presume to know how the rest of us are, you think becuase you hand make a few suits a day that it makes you a more dedicated ctafter and a better person than the rest of us. That becuase we are interested in factory runs we don't like crafting and are in it for the money... I bought a second account becuase I love to craft, I enjoy it...Yesmy other account is a Jedi account, fully templated and yet, she sits there rarely played. I enjoy being a crafter, so much so, that's what I as a player am know for on my server.... been voted Best AS and Best Architect before by the good people of flury.
Yes I do want this fixed, yes I do want color kits, and yes I use factories to make the final armor... why? not becuase I am greedy and wants tons and tons of credits, but becuase I have become one of (if not the largest) supplier of armor on my server. For a long time I made every suit by hand, but when I play for 5 to 6 hours a day and spend 90-95% of that time crafting, you start to get burned out. I don't want to get burned out, not from something I enjoy, so i turn to factories. My customer have come to expect to go to my vendor and find what they are looking for. I take pride in offering a v ariety to my customers as do many AS's. But I am not going to hand make the 40-50 suits of armor I sell on an average day.
So just becuase I or anyone else makes armor in factories does not make us credit horders. Oh and if I wanted to go home and change the color of my blue jeans I would buy some dye from wal-mart... If I want to change the color of my half plate that I do own and wear, I'll go to the hardware store and buy some weather proof spray paint and primer to change the armor color. If I want to change the color of my furniture,I can re-apolster it, if Iwant to change the color of my house I can repaint it.So before you try and get all sarcastic you might want to do a little shopping and see that in RL this can be done.
Umm who said anything about painting houses in RL?If you talk real life, I want to know what armor you wear to work, I am sure your boss loves you wearing composite (doesn't it get hot)- only real life item was painting your clothes(I would love to see how they turn out when youtry dyeing them, tryit on a nice suit that you pay 550k for hahahah) - PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU READ - my only gripe is if they make if for armor make it for everything, Tailors arehaving the same problemwithfactory runs as we are. Nothing better then getting a yellow BE jacket when the schemwas black, once again (to put it simple for some folks out there) if you make it for armor make it for everything. There is no doubt that players would love to make their armor whatever color they want and it would definately come in handy for "bugged" armor runs. Personally I would rather see all the other bugs in the game fixed before worrying about a coloring kit. Lets get the game working correctly.
Where did you say anything about apinting houses??? Pay attetion to what you wrote... you come on hear and try calling out larger armrosmiths like we dont' care about crafting becuase we don't hand make every suit of armor, then you throw in other examples but ingame and in RL, I refuted every stupid little example you have had... My goal is not to sell as much as I can, my goal is to provide my customers with as many options as I can, but you want to assume that you are a better AS becase you hand craft all 5 suits of armor you sell in a week... in the time it takes me to write this I probably sold 5 suits.
Where di I say anything about wearing armor to work? Your just throwing out stupid combacks that have no relivence to eaither post... I said I have a suit of Half Plate armor, that If I wanted to I could easly repaint... didn't say anything about work did I? Nope. As for Dying Clothes it's easy to do if your IQ is about 80, but then again mabey it's abit more difficult for some, so then you can go pay a professional $30 to redye your high priced suit if you really like, it's not hard you simply apply a low adrasive bleach compound to strip it of it's existing color, then reapply the new color of your choice, and you don't use paint you noob, that's why "coloring kits" are being asked for , not cans of spray paint. Perhaps you are the one that needs to learn to read what is posted.
Why should they make it for everything if they make it for armor? Armorsmiths want color kits, the debat on the Architect forums rages on still weather or not they want color kits... Tailors DO NOT want color kits, that would kill thier profession as most of the repeat buisness if to redesigne a persons look through color, so quit trying to push your wants on a profession that does not want it as a whole.

Armor pulled from factory crates will retain its color.
