So quick recap on new TC AS content and back to topic:

- schematics drop for "craftable" BH armor

- it is the same BH armor as we have been seeing inloot pre-CU and on BH npc trainers.

- it is "Assault" armor as it was in the CU beta on TC

- loot is coming off new "elite" BH marks for sure

- schematic is "single use" like Mandalorian

In the meanwhile crate bug still there, blind experimentation crafting still there, no color kits etc. (I know look above at bug list in the FAQ sticky)

I was watching Gladiator the movie andthe scene comes to mind where the SenatorGracchus states "The beating heart of Rome is not the marble of the Senate. It is the sand of the Colosseum"referring to Commodus the emperor'sidea to pacify the common people with "games and circus " and notdealing with the issues and problems. Ok so are we worse off with new content in the game or should we stress over problems and get them fixed first? Is it even in our hands to ask/say or demand it?

I see this whole loot thing as SOE's way of keeping BH off the jedis' backs for a while any way, so giving us new armor to compete against jedi is not in their interest any way.

you must not be getting 5-10 tells/e-mails a day about this then are you? I know i get asked to make this all the time. More BH's than you think will be all over this like white on rice, on a paper plate, in a snow storm, with a glass of milk.

Earlier this evening I looted a new AS schem. The Crafted Bounty Hunter Helmet. The schem require Aluminum, polymer, rfp and synth cloth. There are no special or named resources required atm to craft the helm. The AS who crafted it for me is working on putting up a post with the palette and crafting stages. Since my alt has been an AS forever I thought you guys would like to know.

So no cores needed?

I thought we should be able to use our own layered cores like we do with faction armor.

you still need cores. He was just letting people know that the 2 resources to make this are not going to be some odd crap that no one ever harvested.

I'm not disputing that the armor isn't going to be / already in high demand I'm just saying that it's not recon or high energy defense because the Devs don't want BHs hunting jedi.

To tell the truth I'll be one of the first in line to get my set of BH armor and be happy to have it. But not because I need it for hunting Jedi I can tell you that. Every BH and BH wannabe will want this armor as soon as you can craft it for them.

So be ready because you're going to be swamped with BHs knocking down your shop door drooling over the posability that you could carft them their name sake armor.

PS my AS toon never wears his MAS title and since before pub 20 I didn't have the badge for it in my profile, but I'm sure now I'm going to get hounded for the stuff, I've already got 15 e-mails from some of my BH friends asking if I'd be the first to craft it for them.

/sigh

back to work I guess

FaceInTheCrowd, I'm a master BH and have been for a long time. If the Devs were doing this just for us then these guys would be dropping armor pieces instead of armor schematics.

Besides, who cares WHO they did it for?

But then how would you get the colors you want, or the other customizations for resists/sockets/layers/etcthat go into the armor you actualy want to hunt in?

Well, I can see the armorsmiths not being greatly pleased if it were "for them". Why? They dont need it, while they do need other things done(mainly fixes). I think its more of a trick by the Devs to getBHs to hunt something other than Jedi, and its craftable by AS's instead of a looted item that can be worn right away for the reasons mentioned above.

Brutus_Krylop wrote: Heh, thena full suit of thisstuff will be rarer than RIS, yet slightly above Mandalorian

Hardly, once there are enough of them crafted on your server, which won't take long. Keep in mind the rare loot drops from GDK's and Gurk King's to make RIS right now. And with those loot drops going for 750k a piece (unstacked) and a full suit needing 9 from each, RIS is going up in price again even as we speak...

Although it is kinda neat that only ONE profession can even wear the armor. Andseeing as one of my alts is a Master BH, you know i'll be doing elite marks for a while!

Funny thing though will be the collective sigh of relief from the Jedi as all the Master BH's go "on leave" to hunt down NPC marks for a while until they get a full suit.

Hey, just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. Bounty Hunter armor at last, with good stats to boot. I always liked the look of this stuff (with the possible exception of the helmet, but oh well) but back in the old days, the stats stunk and it was a royal pain to get your hands on, so I gave it a pass. Usually wore Ubese. Then while testing the CU, there it was. Bounty Hunter armor, that didn't suck. Then it was mysteriously absent...

First off: very glad to see this stuff in game.

Second: the devs do earn points on the implementation. This is how a lot of the ROTW stuff should have been handled, rather than each player getting a full loot/reward arsenal from the quests, many of which aren't even so hard to do. Totally left crafters out of the loop. Let the adventurer get a schem, take the schem to a crafter, everyone gets something. And some Bounty Hunter armor suits will be better than others, but based on going to a better smith, not randomly. Plus, where do we get our Bounty Hunter armor? From HUNTING BOUNTIES. Congrats, devs.

Third: the bugfix vs. new content issue. We need bugfixes. We also need content. And not everyone at SOE is a programmer. They have game designers, artists, animators, etc. You don't want these people touching the codebase, ever. So what's SOE supposed to do if they switch totally to bugfixing, fire them, give them paid vacation, what? They're on payroll, they're going to be put to work, we're going to get new content. Meanwhile other people do bugfixes.
