Thread: SWGCRAFT.com HACKED
Silly Idiots, why hack something just useful and inoffensive.
This might sound silly, but as I am not a computer boffin.....
Is it safe to visit atm???
or worse still, as a member, do the hackers already have my login details????

it looks like some punk that just wants to proof he can hack, and this new front page's source code looks like it's just html so it's safe to visit (although there's no point to). I would guess that they simply replaced the front page and the website itself wasn't messed with (so your info should be safe)... although we wouldn't know until swgcraft comes back online.

As most of you noticed we fell victim to a hacker sometime between today and yesterday. Using an exploit in the version of vBulletin we were running he was able to put his own code in to one of the configuration settings and basically take over the whole site. Since the main site also uses the forum code as it's base code that was affected as well.
Thanks to the very rigid database backup routine we use it means we have only lost just over a days worth of resources and forum posts. I restored the database backup from yesterday morning, which looks unaffected by the hack so far. I have also updated the forum code to the latest version in an attempt to prevent any future hacks. If you spot any problems let me know.
I'm glad he backs up regularly. I was worried that this valuable resource would be gone for good.
Good ol' Middle East script kiddies "hacking phpbb for allah!" Gotta love how they're "so skilled" that their deface page HTML is from a saved file on one of their computers. How clever, if only they realised when saving this page from wherever they hosted it to begin with that IEadded this little tag to the HTML:
<!-- saved from url=(0040)http://www.miraatzubair.com/vb/index.php -->
Time to dust off the old tools methinks ![]()

maybe he can hack the game itself and fix what the devs screwed up....at least soe should try to hire this guy...its obvious that he is smarter than their web security people.
