Thread: Armor Prices
I was starting to wonder this myself.
I'm almost to the point in Armorsmith where I can begin to sell my wares, and I was wondering what a price range that folks are getting. If you could help a novices out, that would be fantastic.
I know that supply and demand come into play a lot, but what are your wares going for? What's your advice on addinglayers? If you have examples, I'd love to hear them ("Oh yeah, I sell Ubese full suits with 65% kineticfor xxK Cr!")
Thanks from the apprentices,
All my layered stuff costs 300k - Thats still quite a good return for investment, though most of the price is dictated by the hides cost rather than the main resources (theres always some other decent resource I can get for 10cpu or less to replace my existing stuff if I ever run out, though I try to avoid that)
It all depends on your servers economy- the new batch of smiths are undercutting me now (selling around 250k or so) but they cant seem to guarantee stock, so my existing customers keep on coming back to me.
If youve got existing customers, then just reduce your price to slightly higher than the market average - especially if you do well with your sales and do proper stockkeeping and have a higher number of experiment points - if the stuff doesnt sell then just adjust the prices accordingly.
The majority of people see the amount of cash an armoursmith supposedly makes and jumps on the bandwagon, but once they realise that at least 75% of your profit is paid straight back out on resource purchases, and how keeping stocks is a pain in the backside, they usually just slide by the wayside and let the 'proper' smiths keep the market share....
.... youve got to ask yourself if youre in it for the long haul or just want to be a fly by night smith.
