I am completely against this on multiple fronts.

First, I agree that force mods should be permanently removed from all regular skill mods. I agree with the sentiment that they are not related and should not ever be related. Combining them only serves to force people to pursue the Jedi path. The game isn't about Jedi, and never should have been. Honestly, allowing PC Jedi was a major mistake on the part of the Dev's in my opinion. I know it's an unpopular position, but I maintain it nonetheless.

Second, Why Expirementation? Mon Calamari were supposed to be the ultimate non-jedi crafters and were awarded a +10 Assembly mod. As we all know, that made very little difference, if any. So why not do the same for the Jedi. If +10 Assembly is supposed to mean you are better, then give them that and leave our Expirementation Points alone.

Last, This will completely kill off all junior crafters of every profession as non-Jedi. I am a junior MAS, been a MWS for a long time. Theorhetically, I would be a prime candidate to be all for this change. I am on the verge of cancelling instead. I am one of those "measly" 10pt smiths for both professions. So now I have to look at a 4pt gap compared to the "powergamer" or specialist types. I don't make the level of money to buy +20 tapes, for either profession. I don't have the skill pts to spend on any "jedi" related skills. My few remaining pts are in my combat skills so I don't die running around. All the other junior crafters will be in the same bucket as I am. Staring at a huge climb with no salvation until the top. Am I supposed to start raping my customers like everyone else just so I can afford +20 tapes and have a slim chance of competing again?

I take pride in selling my gear for a very slight margin over what I spent to make it. I am not one of these AS's that make millions. I work by custom order only, and take great pride in my work. I get complimented on my weapons all the time, armor I just recently got started in so people haven't made too many comments yet.I only see this serving to force crafters to abandon all hope of any combatant role so that skill pts are available for "Jedi" skills, or specializing in only one field. Like Tess, my character is not meant to be force sensitive. So am I supposed to abandon my character concept? The Jedi were always rumored, shown, and talked about as being very few in number. What happened to that concept? The Dev's claim to have never intended Composite Armor to be so prevelant, but we are all cookie cutter combatants running around in identical (looking) armor. How on earth can they begin to claim that this stacking effect won't force a "cookie cutter" effect on all the crafters? Armor smithing is actually one of the professions I worry LEAST about. We only have two things that normally get expiremented on, three if we end up with extra pts. Weaponsmiths have three useful ones, Bio-Engineers have 5 or 6, Chef's have 3 (I think). Agreed, this is just an Armorsmith area, but what we are discussing here applies to more than just us. When the basis of the crafting system changes, whether due to us or someone else, we will be affected by it.

,,,for RocketDSM. Well said.

The Kitten's Diary, Day 781: I have discovered a most delightful way of making life miserable for my captors. Yesterday, I ate the woman's precious begonia, and today I have dismembered the amaryllis in the bedroom window. She is furious over the loss of her darling house plants! I find it highly gratifying.

My biggest beef about this whole issue is the fact that they are going to reward those that have already unlocked purely by default. MOST PEOPLE DID NOT PURSUE JEDI SO THEY COULD CRAFT BETTER. They did it to get a Jedi. Why is this not enough?

This is a disproportionate reward simply because the grind is going to get harder. They have already said as much. Why should they further reward someone who has mindless ground out one profession after the other and then make the new subscriber undergo a more difficult process to achieve the same end? The present Jedi should be thankful and take what they already have and be happy with it.

I have visited many forums about this issue and the pervasive arguements FOR the new system has been skewed towards one end.....ME. So what about you? You're already here. You've been here. You've completed the grind. It won't hit you so badly. Or will it? This issue is going to reach much farther than any one crafting profession or even crafting itself.

Do you honestly think that SOE is offering a 14 day free trial if there wasn'ta serious problem with getting new subscribers? This is a marketing tactic more commonly used at the introduction of a product to entice people to try it out. SWG has been here for over a year now. Those that engage in online entertainment have already at least heard or read some sort of reviews on the game.

What happens when Joe Noob brings home the SE because all he wants to do is fly an X-Wing and be able to kill Imps in space. He then finds out when he logs on that it will cost him a fortune to even buy an X-Wing crafted by a FS shipwright that would even be able to remotely compete with the Tie Fighter that is also FS crafted. Face it folks, this game is in bad need of new blood. Alienating new players is not going to but it. Bottom line is SOE needs to pay the bills to keep this ship afloat. Unless they can entice Joe Noob to stick around for awhile, there is a good chance the lights my dim or even go out. Joe Noob definitely won't stick around if he has to spend months doing this, that and the other thing he hates or doesn't even want to do just to reach his glorious space battle.
