I'm sure a WS armor will always be better.

what are they going to do when most of the server because FS, they don't use armor and makes their own weapons.

Are there going to be armor powerups? The category has been on vendors/bazaar forever.

Replace 'because' and insert 'becomes'. I think that was what CharPrime was trying to say.
What happens when everyone becomes ForceSensitive and/or Jedi and there is no need for Armor and weapons since they have a robe and make their own lightsaber?

I have another question: Will the revamp affect enhancers, in other ways than that they will combine differently of course.
I just got my hands on some 30% NS Layers andI can't decide quite what to do with them. They're almost too good to do more than gaze in awe at.
A Tantel armor helmet would be cool to make, but man would it be wasteful. With a 30% Layer and 6% Janta Hide and a great eff slice it'd have some sweet stun resistance though. But since all that is changing anyway.. *holds his fingers crossed that Naritus will be chosen for TC2 someday so he can make that helmet without crying*

Will there be more types of armor? Will we be able to produce unique looking sets using different combinations of types/colors? I realize this may not be at the top everyone's list, but diversity is important. Most people don't want to look like everyone else.
Personnally, I'd like to see more of the armor from the movies ect. in-game. I recall a battle near Moenia where some mercenaries were fighting gungans. The merc's had on armor that was clearly scout trooper armor, but instead of being white it was camo or something. Put it in the game and make it craftable! Put in as many as you can! Imagine craftable clone trooper armor! Call it whatever you want, hell, make it all composite (as far as stats, resources ect. are concerned) as long as it looks different and looks like Star Wars it will help the game.

Yes, there is absolutely more armor (especially faction armor) coming. Whether that's with the Combat Revamp, the GCW Revamp, or somewhere in between we'll just have to wait and see. In order to keep things new and fresh, the devs will always add new "stuff" to the game and armor is part of that stuff. One thing I would expect (just my guess)from the revamp is that armor won't be weak->strong. It will more likely be that each type of armor will be highly effective to a couple of damage types. So, when you walk up to one type of opponent you may have to put on tantel armor and switch to composite for something else.

Well since i know you're reading this thread Jaato, just wanted to let ya know that I'm back and you've done an amazing job since I left! The armorsmith community is lucky lucky lucky.
But damn you for getting to go to Austin!!!! WishI had stuck with it
I'm looking forward to this combat revamp and how it will change armor. It should be around the time I start smithing again. The idea of specialized use-specific armor has been lost almost completely, and it was bad enough before. I think it will create a more interactive relationship between the smith and the consumer, instead of pumping out crate after crate of one thing.
Anyhoo... Hope you had fun in Austin and hope you pinched Pappi for me. If you need a break from this stuff in a month or two, let me know!

Welcome back Styx. Hope you enjoyed your 'vacation'
Things have been quiet around here for the past few months, but it looks like they're about to really start to heat up. I've got some high hopes for the armor revamp after reading the design docs and hopefully they'll be borne out in practice.
