i was thinkin about goin and gettin 90 of each of the RIS components but i wasnt sure how long it would take, i know its easy to get the bones but how long would it take to get 90 hide and scales if i hunted solo?

I am also looking to get these components. From what I hear you need 9 GDK scales... now does that mean I need 9 stacks or just 1 stack with 9 in it or like 2 stacks 1 with 4 one with 5... I am guess thats right. As apposed to looting 9 different stacks. Sry if this is confusing.

If you are strong enough it can be done quickly. The bones are easy yes. The hide is easy if you know what to look for. The scales take some doing, best be in a group or high lvl combatant. I actually spent about 8 hours on lok over the course of 2 days, managed to get over 50 scales and over 70 hide (pieces not stacks). I was of course fighting alone, so I didn't have to split the loot.

You seem to have the same idea I did. My advice to you:

Find a way to make the most of your time. I traveled between places and just looked (i have a master ranger that I pulled out to try to track them, and no luck finding them that way,. I always have to ride past them). Know the ways to find a gurk king, and be able to solo a lvl 81 double elite. Also, mark the spots where you find GDK, a pattern will start to form.

After my 2 days of trying, I know know where to look for gurk kings and GDK, as well as how to take them out.

The only problem is this:

GDK rate of not dropping anything: 50%

GDK rate of dropping scales: 10%

so, you can kill 9 GDK before you get a stack of scales. more common loots are advanced battle cores and kimogila scales with +10 health bonuses.

To those wondering, each suit of RIS requires 9 pieces of GDK scales, woolamander harrower bones, and gurk king hides. Most stacks contain between 5 and 8 pieces, I have not yet found a 9 piece stack of any RIS loot part, so for a single suit, you will need 2 stacks.

Ok I just looted a Kimo Scale off a GDK. It is a stack of 10 yes I said ten. Now when I examine it. It says its used for assault armor. Is that just non irrelevent or are only some scales for battle and some for assault?

This is what it reads "These Kimogila scales can be used by a skilled armorsmith to enhance the crafting of any assault armor segment"

Whats the deal with that?

those are just the regular kimogila scales used for assault armor crafting... pretty worthless i think. you need to find "Giant Dune Kimogila Scales" These are what you need to make RIS armor. If you examine them they should say they are used in the crafting process for RIS armor. If not, just remember it has to be a GIANT Dune Kimogila Scale.

TiyTan do you have any tips on how to find the Giant Dune Kimogilas, or where to look? I know where to find Gurk Kings and everything else but I don't have any luck in finding the Giant Dune Kimogilas... any tips or waypoints?
