Thread: Marine Armor
Sorry if this is posted some place else - I checked the faq and it wasn't there...
Can anyone tell me the stats on the rebel Marine Armor you can get fromthe recruiter? At this point i'm just curious. Specifically, the mind costs, especially on the helmet (and what it protects against).
Also, I now have the "full" (no helmet or other little pieces) of Marauder armor, and i really like the mind encumberance as it takes up nearly nothing. Can i have the marauder armor sliced for effectiveness/encumberance or is it 'as is' ?
it protects 15% against everything 'cept electricity, stun, and blast. and it's got 25% special against kinetic. it only uses up 10 mind per piece so it's very wearable for a rifleman (me). -and it looks **edit** cool with a composite chest plate
would a suit of mabari offer better protection for the similar mind costs? (With average krayt or voritor drops as an option).
Thanks for any info you can offer
and don't tell me "rifleman should be naked" - that's bull**edit**. besides, there are ways around the encumberance costs. (drugs, buffs, food, etc)
and i want something more permanent than a PSG.

Don't know the Marine stats, I would like to know the exact stats and screenshots for Marauder if you could get them please, I'm making a website to answer these specific questions.
I don't know if you can get quest/faction armor sliced...
I do know that Mabari is a good option for Riflemen. They don't use Krayt or Voritor, they can use Nightsister segment enhancements though. With enough of those enhancements (five pieces), you could have a nice set of Mabari with 0 mind cost and maybe even 0 action cost as well.
As far as protection, Mabari has a Special Protection of Heat with a 'built-in layer' of Blast for 5%, and has normal resists for kinetic and a few others. Vulnerabilities are Energy, Stun, and... I forget the other one/two...
So, if you're not worried about Energy, Stun, and whatever else the vulnerabilities were, then Mabari is wonderful. It's really good for hunting creature that are mostly kinetic.
My advice, get a set of Adv Mabari or Nightsister enhanced Mabari, and keep that Marauder around for Energy fights
k, thanks for all your posts guys ![]()
exact stats on the armors in question can be found at swgcenter.com
i'm thinkin i'll get my marauder stuff sliced, maybe pick up some marine, mabari, or composite components to fill out the missing pieces (gloves, arms, boots, etc). i'll probably end up getting a full suit of composite for when i'm buffed + pvp. but for day-to-day the marauder stuff works well for me and looks different/cool
thanks for your tips and help!

Krayt marabi is a great choice. I just got a helm 31% kinetic, 30% cold, 8% energy, 23% heat,24% electricity, and only 8/7/41 (sliced for ham).
The pieces are 30% resist across the board. As for HAM:
- Boots: 15-33-19
- Breast Plate: 150-49-19
- Biceps:
I have pieced this together from other boards across many websites so i apologize for not giving credit
Resists are 30% for Energy, Blast, Restraint, Cold, Electricty. As to the HAM cost:
- Boots: H15/A33/M19
- Breat Plate: H150/A49/M19
- Biceps: H15/A16/M19
- Leggings: H45/A130/M19
- Helmet: H15/A16/M225

You have to be a rebel combatant or special forces to wear it. It will cost you about 8000 faction points to biolink it.
To clarify, you have to be rebel combatant or special forces to "equip" it. I wear mine with the "on leave" status all the time.
