Thread: Wookiees need some loving!
Its a tossup where this thread should actually be since there is a Wookiees-species thread in the Core Systems Forum supposedly Championed by that CA.
When it comes to Wook armor, though, I do consider this the place to air the concerns, rip arms off, throw them back...

Post CU Armor is 6 parts. 5 parts if you can only wear recon because of a bug.

hmm I thought mine was Post CU armor ...
Anyway .. ya throw arms away
Or at least throw the gloves in the armor away - so we can wear gloves while wearing armor - like all other species can !
The thing that armorsmiths can do, not only to help out their furried friends, but also to make their own lives simpler, is to advance and champion the idea that all of the basic types of recon, battle, and assault armors should use the same resources respectively. The other issues are best taken up on the tailor forums, and/or the general game mechanics forums.
The current setup leads to a situation where an armorsmith, with dozens of specific resources needed already to craft armor, must then go out of their way to locate species specific resources. This might not be so bad, if only Wookiees and Ithorians made up a larger portion of their customer base. The disadvantages such as they are, to playing these species ensure that player base will always be smaller. This produces a case of diminishing returns. From a business standpoint, it makes little sense to attempt to keep resources in stock for what amounts to less than 1% of your potential customer base.
A quick search through all available armor on my primary server (Kauri) for Wookiee Recon armor, produced results that would be depressing to anyone that was faced with this reality: Ceremonial Armor, one piece listed server wide, with 3600 energy resists, selling (chest piece only) for 130k. This same search resulted in a hit on an unsliced Tantel chest (6 of them btw) with 6440 energy resists at 110k.
I readily accept thatI will have to special order just about anything that I need. It's the price I pay for playing the species I wanted to at the begining, and then not deleting and starting fresh a year and a half a go once I realized just how screwed they left us. For non established players though. This is a nightmare. I don't have access to the numbers, but I would be surprised if there were not a higher percentage of Wooks and Ithorians pursuing TKM. Each time one of my suits wears out, I reconsider this career path myself, and I, unlike many newer players, have the monetary resources and connectionsin game to get the things I need.
These are the items I hope get addressed from the armorsmith side of things. To me, this seems a win-win situation. At the least, when a special order is requested, the resources to create species specific armor of the same quality level as other armors will already be on hand.
