It saddens me that there seem to be numerable people in our profession who have absolutely NO CLUE about the profession they pursue - they know "if I do this, then I get this", but they don't know the hows or whys, or even what affects what, and how.
Seriously, it bugs me to a degree. I don't want such people representing me, and other respected, knowledgable members of the crafting community, and I CERTAINLY don't want the devs to have the impression that such misinformed whiners are even remotely associated with the majority of crafters out there...

Show me how an amazing success has any affect on the initial results as a master armorsmith. It doesn't matter if I get an amazing success, great success, or good success on assembly -- the initial results are the same, and I'm going toget the same final stats on the item. This also applies for weapons crafting.
The only possible thing is the fabled "critical success" and I've never once, in thousands of armor assemblies since mastering this profession in August 2003, seen a critical success.
The only thing assembly was good for at master was to prevent critical failures.

depending on the numbers under the hood, the resources, and the crafted segments used, an amazing assembly can result in an increased chance of having an amazing success upon experimentation.
In my crafting, I have noticed I have had a greater chance of having an amazing experimentation, and even repeated amazing experimentations, on a segment or layer or component that has had an amazing assembly over one that has a great assembly. That doesn't mean getting an amazing assembly on a great experimentation is impossible - its just more likely, and more likely to happen multiple times on an amazing assembly than on a great assembly.
So yes, you don't know what you are talking about.

The only thing assembly seems to do for me is help get 4 sockets. And I am assembly capped too... (+28 in tapes)

The only way any of us really know what we're talking about is to take alot of data, or get an answer from the devs, or hack the code. Without numbers we're just waving our hands right?
My intuition tells me that amazing success on assembly has very little if any effect on the chance of amazing success when experimenting... based on all the layers i've made etc.
