I like questions 1 and 3. Two I feel is irrelevant. Armor is just going to have to take more time, and become more expensive. I think a more appropriate topic of discussion would be changing some resource requirements to resources that have a spawn chance of more than once per year.

Here's my new Top #1 question: Is the change in the resource weighing intentional or a bug? If intentional, when is the ingame interface being updated. (Both the weighted average in inventory and in the crafting interface)
This is a huuuge change in the basic function of crafting.
