Might sound stupid: on 25.10 I was able to craft the Sentinel Armor (with Ressources according to Padded Armor)-yes, i am not a Master AS (4-0-0-4) yet :-)

On 26.10 The Sentinel was no longer available (only for Master AS), but I was now able to craft the guardian (using what i think Composite Ressources as it uses Composite Segments).........

Question is: Is this a bug, or has the Sentinel now become some sort of Uberarmor because it has to be better than the composite/guardian?

By the way, the Server i am playing on is Gorath

Another interesting situation. Thanks for bringing it up! Can we get confirmation from another AS that is not yet Master? I'd check this myself, however, being MAS prevents me from doing so. If we can get confirmation on it, I'll be glad to add it to the list of issues.

When you Master AS compare the sentinel and the guardian armor, what is it like?
Is it like they changed the armors for what reason ever and only forgot to adapt the ressources?
Or is the sentinel the "better" armor?.....

Great post! Thanks for confirming #7 on the list at the top. Vulns/Resists are borked on all 3 kinds Ithorian Armor.
We have confirmation once again on the Blast not being able to be experimented up on the Defender and Guardian, but can be experimented up on Sentinel Armor. The issue with the vulnerabilities is the fact that they changed from one day to the next. Clarification is needed here and on the Blast issue.
Thanks for mentioning that you could get it sliced. Could this perhaps be a localized issue?
Oh and on the previously crafted armor, was it hand made or crated? I have two suits in my house that were hand made on Sunday night (80/78/67) and still have these stats. Anything I've crafted since then has been with the Blast Special and strange Vulns. There seems to be an issue with the Armor coming out of the crate that is causing the stats to shift as well as a bug that is causing us to craft the armors with the new Vulns/Resists issue.
Good things coming out of this. I'll keep working on it when I get up tomorrow. Great work everyone, and thanks again for the input!

The segs were all factory made, the suits were all hand builds. I was making my first sets of Ithy with left over segments.. stuff that was left after factory running suits that I hadn't turned into "critical" pieces (you know, the ones that sell faster than the rest). So, these same segments at some time had been used in Composite, Padded, and Chitin armor, the Composite has long since sold. The Padded with the same segs is on my vendor, and I might even have some of the Chitin still.

The Ithorian armor is currently severely confused...

I made a glove of each type to test slicing. In doing so, I found lots of oddities. In addition to each of them having Blast as a resist (unchanging 25% on Defender and Guardian), the vulnerabilities and base were also borked.

Composite has vulns of stun and lightsaber and that's what the Ithorian armor made with composite segs had on the day it was released and for a few days after. I've been sick, so I haven't made much armor (and no Ithorian) since the weekend. But... I put some I made on the vendor on Sunday, I think (fuzzy brain, still a bit sick). The segments used were not from the same batch of segs, which is why the base is slightly different, but I have the 2 side by side in the screen shot to show the oddity in the stats. These are kinetic layered segs.

Defender

Padded has vulns of heat, acid, stun, and lightsaber and so did the Ithorial armor made with Padded segments when 11 went live. The one on the vendor is from that day, the glove is from tonight (someone bought the glove on the vendor *chuckle*). The glove and the pants were made from the same run of segments and experimented the same way (max base-line and then the rest into encumbrance). The new ones were made with PADDED segs and resources but have Composite-like vulnerabilities and base. The blast went up like electricity on composite does with similar experimentation. The percentage on the kinetic and base is enough to verify the two pieces were made with the same segments.

Sentinel

Lastly... the segments and resources I used for Guardian will reach in the mid 60s for Chitin, experimenting the Special and putting the rest into base. However, the gloves made tonight reached 80% kinetic! Chitin is vulnerable to blast, acid, energy, stun and lightsaber, but the Guardian gloves made tonight have slightly different vulns: stun, heat, acid, and lightsaber. The change in vulns isn't entirely odd, jsut abby-normal.

Guardian at 80% kinetic

To be able to test whether the kinetic goes up on Guardian when it is sliced, I had to make gloves without any experimentation. The slice was low low, but the Special did not go up. You can see by the serial numbers it is the same pair of gloves.

Unsliced and Sliced

The other 2 armors were slicable.

I did not get any of the previously crafted armor off of the vendor to see if the resists "stayed". I can do that tomorrow since I should have gone to bed about 2 hours ago *laugh*.

The Guardian should give you roughly the same Resists/Vulns as Chitin Armor. High Kinetic resists usually somewhere in the60-75% range preslice (we did have someone hit 80% earlier). The base effectiveness can be anywhere from I'd say20-25% in most cases.

For the Sentinel you can achieve resists somewhere around 65-75 on the Special Protections and about 45% on the base.

Keep in mind that this is using very good resources. I haven't noticed a change in the resources needed. Been using the same stuff the past 3 days. If you could take a screenshot of how the schems are showing up in your Datapad, that would be helpful. While Sentinel does have more Special Protections, I'd say that the Guardian is better because of the possibility for higher Kinetic resists.

Nah, we're still waiting for clarification on things. We're still testing a lot of these issues and Jaato has presented it to the Devs. Hopefully we'll hear something soon.

Mostly I'm concerned about the comp version (defender) of the Ithorian armor. Having recently dropping AS after being one since last November I would think most current AS would be more concerned about the comp version too.

My guess is since there are few Ithorians out there it isn't a big concern for SOE right now. They've put out 2 patches so far and not even a mention of this.

I care about all the armors. There is more than jsut composite armor and, yes, I do sell a lot of the other armors. Not everyone can afford Composite, not everyone likes going around buffed all the time, not everyone likes the look of Composite.

I care about all the armors. If one is broken it will affect other things. Take, for example, the chitin variant. Right now, with good quality segs and resources (I might have the best on Kett), you can reach 80%kinetic with Chitin-like encumbrance. That is not as intended, not by a long shot. If we ignored everything except the Composite-like armor, then the problem would still exist even once the composite variant was fixed because no one would know the problem exists to report it.

Right now I am not making Ithorian armor. I do not wish to do so with the major problems it currently has. However, if after a week nothing has been acknowledged or corrected, I probably will start making the Chitin-variant as a LOW HAM 80%kinetic armor for Ithy.

I have yet to hear anything further from the devs. I will bring it to their attention again tomorrow.

Is this working "as intended" or do the devs just not want to listen to anything that is not directly space related?

One problem occured when they switched the 2 top armors because "one looked more durable" or something like that. But in so doing they completely frelled the resistances for -both- of the armors. The one which is now supposed to be composite-like takes padded segs and gives sorta a hybrid of composite and padded resists (the padded vulns but the composite resist levels). The one which is now supposed to be padded-like takes composite segs and also is a hybrid of resists (composite vulns with paddded resist levels) leaving both completely and utterly frelled.

I have no clue about the one taking chitin segs because I didn't craft any before the change, but 80%kinetic with chitin segs and chitin encumbrance can't be intended.

The 25% blast on the "top" armor might be because of their switcheroo, but that doesn't explain it on the chitin-like one. But, I didn't craft the chitin one before the big change, so it could have been there then or it, too, could be a by-product of the switch (they might have figured out they needed to give blast to the now screwed up padded level one and so accidentally gave it to all).

I have a sneaking suspicion that if they reversed the code that switched the two top armors (who cares if one of them looks "tougher", I would rather have the armor -work-) all of the problems would go away. But that would mean they would have to admit they fouled up and made a change with zero testing even on their side.
