Hmm this is worrying. I want to get just a Helm made on Ahazi and I was quoted 1M. I'm supplying the schem, 10 stack +10 Kimos and a Peko. Think I might have to shop around a bit.

1M is waaay overcharging IMO.

I would understand 1M for a whole set, but for just the helm...

Agreed, 1M sounds alot. However, you are asking for health enhanced armor, so even though you are supplying the kimo scales and feather that does require the smith to make the cores from scratch rather than use some pre prepared ones and that will involve several minor factory runs to get 2 identical +30 cores for your armor, make the feathered enhancement with the feather and do the final combine. Consequently it will come down to how much the smith values his/her time. I would probably charge around 300-400K for that job.

2M looks like an above average price to me, and I think you have come up with a good offer for the smith concerned. I hope you get the quality of build that such a fee demands. Its so difficult to judge with the different servers. I have done a similar build to your request, server best energy layered 6165, server best final combine for quite a bit less than your 2M.

I know. What I want, is a very GENERAL opinion on what is a fair price to pay for an AS to craft you a suit of BH armor, w/ you of course, providing the schems, and they only doing the crafting(which doesnt require any rare resources from what I've read on the AS forums). I love the bit in red right back at you then, what would you consider a fair price for my time, patience while you choose your colours, skills as a smith to ensure no borked crafting on what is after all a single use schematic, the fact that I will be using server best resources on your final combine and will pretty much ensure you get the best resists possible on the server no matter what layer combination you choose? How much should I charge you? Remember in the time it takes me to discuss with you your options, several email exchanges probably, and sit there and craft your armor, eating food and drink to make sureI dont get a failure and waiting for my stomach to empty after crafting 4 pieces so I can craft the other 3 I could have looted several schematics myself with my BH alt , hmm decisions decisions

I should have known some overzealous arse would misconstrue the meaning some of my words. My thread was simply asking how much ASs might think is a reasonable fee for crafting BH armor, not implying anything demeaning. If you got that impression, then I'm sory, but you dont know what I meant, I do, so that simply means your wrong if you say I meant something I didnt.

health enhancers can be a pain in the *** to work with and easily increase the build time by a factor of 4 if you have to deal with many short same serial runs of health enhancers

If the customer comes with 3 sets of 13 identical enhancers and 7 peko feathers then it gets a lot easier since thats just 2 extra factory runs for the segments. Bring me 3 sets of 13 kimo scales and 7 peko feathers and I can make your +50 BH armor without too much hassle

My worst experience was crafting a full suit of tantel for someone using short runs of nightsister components. I had to do separate segment/core factory runs for the chest, leggings and helm and then make individual cores by hand for the biceps/bracers, I spent over2 hours on the crafting alone.
