I agree that RIS should remain unique, I like the idea that after all that time crafting, and selling and a little grinding, and the beef with lack of storage (Amen they uped the amount that people and buildings could hold, Amen), That there would be something speical for us to do or create ( one reason am lookin forward to the CU).

As the mayor I get admin to the cloning center.. it's turned into a warehouse for RIS components

I gotta start rereading what I post, what I ment was for resources and other stuff. kind of nice to be able to carry more, and store more as an Armorsmith.

that cloning center would be cool to see though

Im greatly consurt about time tabbles for it when does it happon the told us no time

but Im one of the largest smiths of the server making armors that go for months on stock..... having a stockvalue from over 600mil now its verry risky to make more or go on in making a new run armor, greatly because where total in the dark what the new armors gona do compared to the current armors, is it still wise to invest 100's of mils in new resourse spawns? because Composite is not gona sell that hard any more because of the factional stuff?

My second Fear of it is greatly My personal RIS suit

7 pice 90% sliced nog and 2 Enc on 80% with an Enc of 157/50/115 of the total suit fully ADK on it and loaded with +10 to +25AA spended a lot of credits in it and I use it in all my PvE and 70% of the pieces for PvP also its a 300mil+ value armor ad the current market. is this suit I compleeted 8 months ago still gona be the best of all armors like it is now????

Last I Own 6 Mandolorian Pieces and proberly have completed the suit bevore the CU but its cool to heavy many peope envy me because of it but it is just sick on RANDOM color Sand brown / purple / green-blue / black-gray / totalblack / and so on on the colors
And not to speak about the stats of it Special armor like this shoud be beter then normal stock stuff but 65% Blast and 57% Base is just rediculas with 4 stats not even covert I realy like to see thie armor lives up to its status

well hopes up

my concern about #2

epic armor isn't epic anymore, well, at least on my server. People are looting 10-20 GDK scales in a single buff session

I am swimming in the things, and there are a few other smiths in the same boat.

it used to be for the elite players now SOE has made it for the masses

o well

Armor crafting in my opinion has grown to be one of the best balanced crafting profesions. Long factory times, however anoying they are, and our need for organics in all armor keeps our production rates in check, and keeps one person from controlling an entire market without a huge amount of effort. Also, because of the high decay rate of armor, and the large quantities of players that use it, there is a very large demand for armor produced by the combat community. The combination of the two makes it near imposible for a single person, or even a small group of people to completly control the armor market oneven the smallest servers. This greatly benifits those entering the market, as they can fill in the gaps left by those who have been in the market for a long time, and slowly work up the ranks as their products increase in quality over time.

This is pretty interesting to think about. Interesting too that you talk about what's right in the profession, that's probably a good idea. It's definitely true that factory delays etc prevent market domination.. compare armor to something like doctor buffs where the market can easily be dominated.

dont know about you, but when I make armor I like to see it used so the whole massed gkd scale issue is moot to me. If the scales are more plentiful then perhaps some of my ris will be used. (like my personal suit)

Small one.

Why does Mandalorian armor suck? Truly. For the effort it goes into making it, the stats sure are crap.

And not to mention, you can't change the color.

Nicely written.

As someone else pointed out, the repair skill is eternally broken, I know its probably just been conceeded that it will never be fixed and its just dropped from any redundant debate on getting the devs to fix it, but seriously... it needs to be addressed. Hell they added a FS Repair branch even, its clear they think repairs should somehow happen and be affected by skill, even if that's the furthest thing from the truth, the fact that they keep adding modifiers to it means that somewhere in dev brains, repairing should be working.

#3 Is the biggest concern for me, as a non-human imperial, how badly will the racialpenalties affect being able to bring the product to market? Also another concern is who will be able to make the armors, will they be restricted to factional armorsmiths, or will a combat player be able to get the schematic from his recruiter and take it to his favorite armorsmith (who might be neutral, or even of the opposite faction)?

More to the core of armorsmithing, I really feel there should be a way to customize the armor, from what I've gleened from the devs, the faction armor will not have palettes to play with at all and even possibly the armor will be a complete one piece unit to further reducethe possibility of mismatching the armor and bastardizing the starwars feel the armor is supposed to bring. If I could suggest anything to the devs regarding this one (if they will not allow a palette to be added), would be to add an optional slot to the crafting of these armors, let the player buy a "Special Assignment Indicator" with faction points at their local recruiter, and make it so when that item is put in the optional slot in the crafting process, it results in one of the variant colors of the armor we see NPCs wearing. Each of these purchased items are given a random serial number forcing only hand crafting of this variant of the armor so it doesn't rapidly flood the servers, while not hindering factory production of the default style armors. Encouraging the starwarsfeel by mass producingeasily recognizable armor, yet adding something else to eat up faction points from those who really want it.

#5 PSGs have always been a pain in the rear in my mind. The shifting resists have always been a problem, sincebefore the game launched. This really needs to get nailed down. And yea, they last maybe one fight, they aren't cheap, and noone wants to keep forking money over to use them on any kind of semi-regular basis. The only way I can see making them easier on players to use would be to add a PSGrefurbishingkit or something along those lines to the armorsmith tree.It could bea cheap easy to make disposable item that would restore the condition of the PSGfrom zero, you don't want this to be limitless though, people would never buy PSGs again only therefurbish kit maybe you could take the JTL repair code and make it sothe PSGloses like... 5% max condition each time therefurbish kit is used.

As for the faction armor, rumor has it, it's gotten by faction points. That part is going to kill me cause I do all my killing of Imps in space (Fish were ment to fly).

Wallid, I'm in the same boat but on the imperial side of things. In case you don't know this already, find one of the rebel space stations (since you're rebel), /comm themand declare yourself overt, whenever you shoot down an imperial ship you will earn faction points which go toward your ground faction point total. So we aren't completely up a creek, just mostly

seeing us able to create a rare or non-rare ls resist armour
of some type would truly give us some attention and put us
in a fair grip with CU since the upgrade will centrally revolve
around fight types and the way in which this is handled

1, i dont think any changes need to be done to the use of organtics like hides and bone.. rangers need a job..

2, mando should have a color palet

3, PSG's.. i thought the stat shift was fixed.. hmm guess not.. I had this idea a while back but ill bring it up again. If psgs had a different way of working and being damaged. Make um powered. By that i mean.. have a slot where you drag a power cell to it. Say you can add 10 cells to it before its broken and needs replacing.Maybe a count type thing soo once you have added 10 cells to it you can nolonger recharge it. Could also add a norecharge during combat. Im sure ill get one stared but ohh well.. to bad for all those people that used there vet rewards on it as its obvious that this is a major exploit to make um unlimited use.. it would be like using it on a power up to get permant +16min +33 max to a weapon

4, encumberance exp and durra does need some change. Spending the points on it just doesnt give the increase that it should.. But armor encumberance has never been the real problem its the firggin superman doc buffs that screw up encumberance.and the need not to experiment on it.

5, id like to see some more rare armor types.. and yes using even more organtics and rare loots.. Personally im working on speicalizing in wookie armor.. well will at CR. I love having armors hard to make or really having to go outta your way to get the best stuff.. let all the clones make the every day stuff and the good smiths can make the rares thats how it should be. There is lots of talk that a newbie smith cant compete against a master thats been around for 2 years.. well should they really?? i mean come on.. just cuase i grind up a combat toon doesnt mean im gonna come close to kicking someones butt with the same temp that has been looting and colecting tapes and gear since launch. why should smiths be any different. The resource system thats inplace is one of the few things in this game that has been great since launch and needs ZERO change
