My set finished at around 33 million.... I picked up a +6 bando for 9 million I think, and a +5 belt for about 8 mil, everything else was small, I use a fair number of +1's....
I funded it by selling off a load of resources and just about starting again.... not a problem as most of the best ever resources have spawned since

Umm, why do you still bid on armor exp tapes?

took me nearly a year.... simply because everytime i had large sums of cash tehre werent any tapes or clothing on the market.. so i dropped everything into getting old spawned resources and replenishing stocks of resources at great prices... then the tapes popped up for killer steals and i was broke... lol but now i have my 12 points and i have all those resources so its all good...
just get the resources... i was able to do things with 10 points other smiths werent able to do with 12 points because htey had the money to get the 12 point suit but not the experience to use it properly

Depends, on Sunrunner full suits are going for as low as 20mil, and noone will even bid on them. Other servers however will be alot more expensive, who knows

seems as gorath is getting worse... last time it was 20 mil for a suit was before jedi's... since then 40 mil is a lucky suit

okay so this spawns one more question.
as a 10pnt Master Armorsmith, how long did it take you guys to amass your suits ?
I haven't produced a single piece of armor yet. Have my first run of layers in the oven and I'm 12 point. Of course, I had a fairly succesfull doc business for a good 6 months to help finance it all....

there's a +12 armor exp CA on auction right now that i just got outbid on after putting up 36M... i seriously cannot afford 3M / pt or more... I've already stocked up about 2 million resources and i will have my alt as soon as the phase changes, but... damn. I'm having my doubts about going AS. I put of everything i had and it wouldn't have even put me at 12pts

just dont worry abuot teh 12 points... stick with 10 until you build up a customer base and the market falls a bit and becomes more affordable...
theres plenty of threads including the stickied one on the comparison.. its not too dramatic a difference... just compensate what 12 points would have added with care, customer appreciation, and understanding of the target market you are trying to obatin... if you arent a well known smith then most likely you will have osme trouble stealing away those high end loyal customers anyways... so try adn get the lower end customers that jsut want good armor at good prices.. and you'll be able to do well enough off that to get your points... 1.5-2 mila point.. and 3 mil a point on big tapes/clothes .... just be smart.. sometimes you need to pass up the +4 for 10mil and sometimes you need to buy the +2 for 3....
