I chose AS because it seemed like it would actually take some brains to accomplish making good armor. I have played with the majority of the professions at this point both crafting and combat, and I enjoy a challenge, There is nothing more worthless to me than something like Architecht where there is absolutely no skill involved with crafting. WS is a good challenge because of it's complexity and the specific involvements of enhancements and components. Though AS doesn't look like it will be as challenging as WS it did seem like a nice change of pace from my current WS/SW build so I'll be dropping SW and picking up AS.

I love the skill with Armorsmith, and even though i am "Master" i don't feel like i've even touched the surface of what i can accomplish with it. There is so much tinkering with it that it can be awsome. The hard part about it is that sometimes my life gets very busy and if a great resource is spawning that week, especially a hide or something, i may be SOL. For example i can't make even decent Wookie armor because it seems like everytime something decent spawns for it (which isn't often) i am busy.

But i must defend Architect as well. First it is a great profession for the casual player, which I can be some weeks. Not every player can go out and throw 20 harvs on the latest uber-resource. So it is defensible in that area. Also with Arch the challenge is to be a designer. TO take the limited schmatics necessary to you and come up with a cool looking interior. I recently designed a cool looking chandeller for my City's new cantina, and also a video game terminal... it was a lot of fun.

But then again, i love crafting... if i had the time/SP to pick up DE i would, but i just don't have the time for it.

Well, can't claim the MAS title, but as someone who's toyed with the idea, I have to say the tinkering is what has me intrigued. Same goes for pet crafting with BE. So, yeah, that's the 2creds from one of the, quite possibly, upcoming MAS.

I started doing AS with my alt, mostly to help out my guild. I'm not in it for the money although when i master i'll be setting up a vendor.

AS is a tough profession to grind through and i'm trying to take my time so that i understand how stuff works, but i get the feeling that it could take me a while toi fully understand everything AS has to offer.

Starting AS to help out the guild, and get ready for the CU. Every Armorsmith the guild has gotten has quit on us. But, the alt is a DE too, I like pain.

ya I tossed BE around when it was still challenging. But once they nerfed it to all hell, I never even glanced at it again. there simply isn't any point to BE anymore, the only worthwhile thing they can create now are chef additives which require little skill.

I like crafting.I'm a Buffpack crafting doc. Was Architect for 7 months, shipwright from JTL launch day.

And now eager to try something else. Shipwright is an eternal grind, since there's virtually no factory support for Shipwright, it's actually slave-labor.

I have a +25 exp/assembly AS suit (in 4 pieces), so why not go for it?

I want a challenging occupation, this is it! right?

I was one of the first AS on Tarquinas at launch. I soon had to leave game shortly after mastering, moved etc. Came back after 5 months and had the tag but no resources, gave them all to the PA when I left.

It takes about 6-8 months to get good resources to compete with established smiths. Once your up and running, it is all about commitment. Keeping up on resources , keep factories running, answering the same questions over and over, and keeping your customers happy.

When I started the Jedi grind, I put AS on hold once again. I have since unlocked and reactivated my AS account and right back whereI left off. I might have lost some customers along the way, but like everything else quality and price will bring them back one at a time.

I got into AS for good wife faction--she wanted a reliable source of ubese, and prices on bloodfin get silly at times. Woe is me--it was FOUR MONTHS after I mastered before axidite iron spawned in decent--not good, just not awful--quality, and another month before I could crack the 70% kinetic barrier because the lack of axidite iron had hidden from me the importance of good gemstone. I now have a decent supply of 76% ubese, but have run through all mygood leathery hide, and .... you all know the story.

I stick with ubese only because of a deal I cut with our guild leader. The good news is that gives me a ready excuse when I get the /tells from people asking for 80% stun comp, or to whip up "decent" bone armor from scratch because it "looks cool."

Why do I stay with it? Because I have an idealistic desire to play this game successfully without ever killing anything and because there's no freaking challenge in architect except coming up with fun names for tech consoles like "SOE Bug Deletion Station."

btw, our personal favorite on names for looted schematics is a two-partinside joke involving a former member of our guild who had an inflated idea of his own uber-ness. You kind of have to know the person, but if you're on bloodfin, stop by the med center in New Honor and take a look at the tanned hides, starting the one closest to the door.
