Okay I am really new to the Armorsmith field and have read the FAQ over and over again but one thing I can not seem to understand if I make a layer where would I put it in the armor? Like the Cold,Stun,Acid, and other layers?

Thanks!

Thank you that is what I thought. I guess can not add them to the wookie armor segments?

Correct. The first type of wookie armor does not contain a layer slot although the segment does have a slot for an enhancer (nightsister shard, krayt scale, janta hide, ect.).

New armorsmith needs help:
I was wondering if anyone could help me out with experimentation on layers, segments, and the overall armor....

Out of the 3 in the layers and experimentation what is the best to experiment on?? Special or base resistance?? i was told base and anything after that do the encumberance... i would really like some help

How you experiment at each stage is greatly influenced by what then end result you want is.
For example: When making ubese armour, the generally accepted method is to create a kinetic layer that has maxed special resist (3rd row) with remaining points going into HAM (1st row). For the segment, again push special and then HAM. And you guessed it, do the same on the final combine.
Conversely, with composite armour it's generally better to go with the higher base resist (2nd row) at all stages with remaining points into HAM. BUT... this isn't always the case, the most notable exception here being Stun armour. When making that, you want to max the special resists and base resist of the layer. Then push base and HAM on the segment and final combine.

Really, the best advice I can give here is to sit down and play around with different methods and see what percolates out of the mix With the sheer variety of layers and ways of experimenting on them it's a good be you'll find some unique and very cool way of making armour that most people may not have realised...

Cheers,

I think i read somewhere that anything of 940 kin/energy per segment was a waste but im not sure. I was messing around making segments that ranged form 950-1130 wondering which ones i should do a run of in the factory.

The higher the better.

what would yield higher Energy? Primus layered armor or Energy Layered Armor. Same question for Kinetic resist.

Energy and kinetic layers will always provide more of a boost than primus layers will. The specific effect depends on what armor you put them in. Look here for protection caps for different armor builds.
