I would also question the value of that extra 1% base you're getting from the decimals, considering you're spending an extra 3 points per layer to max out the bar, 9 points per segments. In my case I have 4 extra points after hitting 4% base so that's 12 additional points per segment that I'm dumping into HAM.

Those extra 9 points per segment would amount to a HUGE HAM reduction whereas the extra 1% base is almost unnoticeable in the final piece.

Actually, I grind till I get amazings, meaning that I too have 4 extra points to slap into HAM after maxing the bar on base. That's on the layers, anyway. Segments also are the same - max base in 8 pts, 4 extra for HAM. Final combines are a bit trickier, because wasting 4 segs on a chest to get amazings can get pricey, but with a nice combination of food and a research centre, it can be done.

Carmien...

I think that's fantastic...keep going for it. I felt pretty good about my triple 80% sets on Naritus...not sure Icould get even close to 75's based on our ingredients. Even though most customers didn't really get the idea (would buy my Energy/Kinetic 80's armor and hope for effect slices...doh!), it was a very big seller and raised a lot of eyebrows.

I held back a bunch of sets for slicing for my alt (haven't had time to do it yet...but should be fun)

Anything to push for something new!!! Kick-butt dude

try doin your layers at 4% base with 4% energy you base will be so much higher when done

the reason being you will end up with probably 68% base unless you max you base line then you might get 69 -70, the total your seg ment will come out is 33-34 base with 12 percent kinetic if you get 68% base then your kinetic is 12 points higher than tha t thus 80%

and say you wan energy kinetic then you do a energy layer with 12 energy and put the rest into base then 2 kinetic layers with 6% and then the rest on the base you should get a layer at about 31-34 depending on your points and material with 12-13 kinetic and 12 energy so when you assemble you will get about 68% with the 12% on the other thus getting the 80% on the others

Hope this makes any kind of sense

Anyone mind sharing their formulas for their quad 80 (or close to) and triple 80 suits? I'd be interested in knowingwhat you did and why. For example, if you are trying to make a quad 80 suit, are the ham costs going to be inherently high or can you do something about it? Just want to know what your experiements entail so I can try some experiements of my own without wasting valuable resources to catch me up with where you currently are.

You're going to have to use your resources to experiment this because your resources are different than my resources. The only way to make different armors like these is to make tons and tons of gloves using different resources and different layers in different combinations. We can't simply pop the top on your head and pour the information in. Good luck.

Ok...

Dova if what you say is true, Jaato should remove section H which describes the standard armor templates. Anyone helpful want to help me out here?

Thanks,

As a relatively new armoursmith can someone explain how you get triple or quad 80% specials?? I thought you had to use 3 layers of the same type to hit 80%?

With my current resources and skills (Master but only 10pts) I get 80% Energy comp with 59% base using 3 energy layers (3% base 11% energy).

I'm intrigued to know how you get more than 2 @ 80%...

I have been a master armorsmith since February and I have made all different types of armors and all different types of composite. This quad 80's thing sounds interesting to me - I wasn't looking for someone to pop the top of my head open and pour everything they know about armorsmithing into it. I was simply looking for a template as a guideline I could follow for my experimentation and a few insights.

There are so many people that will go out of their way to help other armorsmiths here, I was just trying to tap into that. Sorry if I was a little rude in my last post, but I was a little offended by the condescending tone.

To layer armor at all you are requiring the user to use buffs. It's highly unlikely even with a good encumb slice someoen would be able to wear a full suit of your stuff unbuffed. That being said..... you should NOT be concerned with HAM. Anyhone that will buy and use that armor probably buys buffs on a regular basis anyway.

Personally I wouldn't buy that armor....... but I certainly can respect how well it's made
