Thank you for your time and effort. To go to meet the devs was both a great privledge and a great responsibility that few people realize until they think about it. You had to go with everyone's questions in mind and make sure that everything was touched on and brought to the Developer's attention. Talk about stepping up to the plate.

We armorsmiths are really lucky we got a great correspondant. Only only needs to go as far as our stickies to see we're lucky.

Thanks again.

A year and a half of work and the CU turned the armorsmithing profession I love into a horrible, mindless grind, so I decided to take up a profession that doesn't even use armor.

I hope it doesn't take forever to come out as well, but at the same time, I'd hate to see something like this sprung on the live servers before it is ready and before it has been thoroughly tested.

Have the devs figured out communication will be a vital part of having a successfull MMORPG? Have they been made to understand vague and incomplete or even totally false answers hurt more than concrete answers that are subject to change at a later date?

I honestly couldn't care less about what they're planning on doing doing, I want to know if they understand that communication (two way communication) is the key. If they do, any game-related problems can then be worked out.

Will Comp still be a viable armor, and still considered "top of the line" in its catagory. ie. will my millions of comp resources be useless when the balance hits (ie making padded the new "best" armor, and comp is now just energy.. etc.) Just want to get a heads up on whether i should be keeping my perfect comp resources or selling them off because comp wont be a top of the line armor any more...

Well, I'm mostly worried that my resource stockpile won't be worth anything after the rebalance. If they are changing armorcrafting so that 80% of the old is void, does that include the resources and stats? It would help with knowing wheter to continue stockpiling good resources or if it will all be for naught anyway.

That is a valid concern and a major one that I had prior to Friday. I am satisfied that the armor revamp plan addresses it, however.

My concern is somewhat different. I'm a 10-point smith who has invested a bit in some plus 1 skill attachments but not overmuch. At present, I can make ubese that sells for 100k and 80/80/69 kinetic composite that easily sells for 300k on my server. 39%/62 base stun armor also goes for around 350k. This allows me to make a decent profit, and I have for the most part reinvested that profit into resources.

My concern about the rebalance is a bit different...HAM is becoming more important. Any time two stats matter, this gives the 12-point smiths with the "magic items" (skill tapes) the edge. That's for the most part the case with stun armor now as both the stun percentage and the base matter.

Will the Devs keep 10-point smiths very viable in the new rule set, preferably by making the pre-composite armor's HAM cost depend more on resources than on experimentation? I see more and more of the market going to the 12-point smiths after the changes. Folks don't look so much at HAM costs presently because of how good buffs are.

I guess I just think it would be very sad if these changes ended up making the "magic items" even more valuable than they already are.

Your question essentially seems to be, Will 10 points smiths be more or less viable under the new system, as compared to 12 point smiths? (If I'm not paraphrasing you correctly, please let me know.)

At the present time, I can't predict the answer to this question. It is a good one, though, and one that I will definitely keep in mind.

Just wondering if they have given any thought to producing more Racial armor, for the various species... not asking Will we see it, but have they thought along those lines at all?

has there been mention about factional armor? or is that for the GCW

I'm very interested in this as well. As one of the devs stated factional armor would become "Fiercely competitive" with composite armor in the last stratics chat. Are we going to be crafting that factional armor, or are people going to run 10 faction missions and go out and get trooper armor that makes my composite look second-rate.

Is point 7 based on your impresion after talking to devs in charge of the armor part of the rebalance/revamp or is it what some PR guy told you?

We actually didn't meet with any PR people, just the devs. The devs responsible for the particular areas of the CB gave the overviews and fielded the questions. I also spent quite a bit of time talking the the dev who was specifically responsible for the armor changes at dinner on Friday and Saturday.
