Most 80% kinetic suits with 60%+ base HAM usally runs around 800/800/800 with above average materials. So he must have some really great materials to get that low of HAM

Not really.

I started the trend around January and 70% of the 80% Kinetic composite sold on Valcyn is ultralight.

Typical stats these days are 80% kinetic 62% base, 510/445/515 ham..

Ham varies a little depending which AS you check, but this is is the only kind of kinetic composite the top 5 AS sell on Valcyn.................

We have too some nice 63-64% base 76-77% energy with sub 500 ham composite ( mind like 490)...

And for those asking in other posts,

You use 3 layers not 2. 3 layers will yield much lower ham if properly experimented...

And yes you need 12 xp pts.

With 10 the ham would be around 590-600....

Well, on Intrepid a while back there were HAM Wars. The lowest I know of was around 1420 unsliced and it was triple layered kinetic. Beats that double layered stuff by a lot. It was also mass produced armor and at least 3 smiths were in that HAM range.

I'm currently making triple layered composite with 62% base and 1550 total HAM. You're going to have to go down quite a bit to call your armor "ultralight" IMO.

I agree with Ail/Rastar

-It isnt too hard to get to low 520's HAM for the ultra light composite. I waited till I had my 12 exp points to start making mine. Mine is slightly higher than a few of the valcyn masters because I dont have the best mal on my polymers.

-and yes most of the top smiths in valcyn make the light composite as it sells better. My customers forced me into making it.

-you can get lower encum using 3 layers if done correctly.

I think that the customers are figuring out that the buffed all the time heavy suit isn't where is it at. With it you regenerate much slower and pick up battle fatigue like no tomorrow. I recently starting making 80% energy 4% stun light armor that the HAM is all below 600 but I don't know exacts (it is something like 550/550/550), and the customers love it.

HAMs would only be irrelevant if it were easier to get a good focus buff. And since anyone buying 80% kinetic armor is likely buying it to fight kinetic mobs, the base resists are much less important than HAMs.

My personal preference is 80% ubese, although not nearly enough smiths on valcyn made this stuff while patch day allowed it. It's still possible with krayt scales though

Has anyone noticed a serious downward trend in armor prices of late? I have 80/63 Kin Comp for sale, not ultra light, but mid 600's on HAM, as I am fairly new to the game and have not had the time to horde resources yet.

The problem is that there are more hardcore +12armorsmiths mass producing composite armor then there were several months ago (flood the market and prices will drop). Hopefully with the armorsmith revamp this will be fixed, hopefully they'll add a looted item in order to get high resist composite, as it is now, u can get pretty much max out composite with just regular materials and mass produce it.

Also these same armorsmith can buy bulk materials from these guys who cross server trade lots, so there cost is usally like 2-3 cpu for 100k stacks of materials. Where as the poorer armorsmith has to harvest his own or buy off the bazaar at 4-6 cpu prices... There suppose to make it harder for these miners to get other people to place harvesters for them on other servers. Persaonly I hope they make it so only the owner can put maintance fees and power in, and also the only ones who can remove the materials. Basicaly remove the administration option. This would keep them more honest since someone from another server is not going to keep coming back to take materials out and put money/power back in.

No looted components or enhancements were used. Only kinetic layers and advanced composite segments. Has anyone made lighter 80% kinetic without enhancements? If so, post here with stats.

Yep:

515 / 452 / 529 @ 80% kinetic / 63% base resists.

Gotta agree, triple is better in all ways except cost compared to dual layered.

Still a very nice suit though godly, i remember your stuff from when I was on Bria.

I like 80% kinetic 60%ish base low ham composite for any sort of hunting that involves humanoid mobs. My 75% kinetic ubese is perfectly adequete if all I'm doing is going hide hunting on some planet, but if I'm going to say the warren to explore, or hunting nightsisters thenthe 80% kinetic composite is good because it's a mix of attacks. Still mostly kinetic, but you still have your 60%+ for the occasional human or whatever that goes after you with guns, or some other non kinetic damage.

Ubese has too many vulnerabilities, and the base is too low for those sorts of hunting.

Those resources prolly cost you nothing to harvest but I bet you could sell them for a lot now.

If you sell the armor for less than you would make selling the resources used in it, I would say, you've got a problem

On Valcyn prices lowered a little recently and typical price for triple layer composite is 300-400k.

Pricing higher stun or high base is just fooling the customers as it takes the same number of resources to make them imho

The suits I posted are selling for 645k. They are dual layered, not triple. It's not worth the extra 20k aluminum to get the ham down 10-15 points and add 1-2% base.

I have tried making triple layered ultralight stuff and it did come out 65% base with lighter HAMs. I won't be making that, however, because I'm going for cost effectivness and I have 3 full medium houses of resources.

All of you people who posted stats, how many kinetic layers did you use? The stats mentioned above where obtained using a mere two layers..

If you used 2 layers then you could probably make even lower enc by using 3 layers. What were the stats on the unlayered gloves and your 2 kinetic layers?

actually...nightsisters are pure kinetic damage now...it's a bug that will hopefully (but unlikely) get fixed soon.

Hmm cost effective ?

You selling armor that cost you 100k top to make for 645k and you afraid to raise your cost to 110k ?

Ahem for 645k I would expect to get the best the AS can make and not him to try save a few k in his costs...

For layers/segments stats for the person that asked we are speaking of the following :

2/2/2 or 1/1/1 ham layesr depending on resources and servers.

2% base 6% kinetic layers...

Segments are typically 18 or 19% kinetic, 26 to 28% base depending on your server materials with a ham around 13/12/13
