I have no idea how the system works but with my master AS I have repaired 100 or more pieces of armor or more and I have only failed once. It sounds like I'm very lucky compared to what others are saying.

Maybe it has something to do witht the armor and its quality from materials that were used to make it. In any case- you would think an ARMORsmith would have the best success rate - wouldn't you!
Shameless Plug - you can pick up ART @

Good point. I would suspect that materials play into the equation. I also wonder if experimenting on durrability and quality would make the armor more likely to be successfully repaired?

The beginning stats of the armors MAL resource value count significantly. MAL = How well armor 'stretches/molds'and physical 'weight'. If it is junk to start with, you get junk out. Remeber GIGO (Garbage in, Garbage out)? I have found that if I wear my Assembly suit...it GREATLY increses the chance of a Great repair. I have also tried Bespin Port...no affect. I found out the resource values by simply making armor from old (Low MAL) resources I had lying around and fighting Rancors till it was at 50%. Then repairing it along with some of my HQ Armor. I failed on the low grade stuff 35% of the time. I failed on the high grade stuff 3% of the time (Wearing the suit). Same goes for Weapons. Also..I have noticed..Master Artisans have more of an impact on repairs than a Master Armorsmith (Unless you're both, which I am)

Tho id love to be able to actually have a bonus in repairing as an armorsmith.
