Hey everyone, as the title suggests I am a new armorsmith and I have a question that has probably been asked before, but i have been unable to find the answer. Basically what I'm wanting to know is what kind of stats on the resources is everyone using to create 80% kinetic composite armor? It was recommended to me that i start shopping for resources now so that i will have them once i reach master, so if anyone can let me know the stats on the resources they use it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot!!

Well I will make this quick and as painless as I can. I have two accounts and my MBH found 9 what I think is awesome rancor segments. 24% heat and cold and 22% base. Well of course this is for padded. the question is can I someday make awesome padded from this or am i just wishful thinking?
Please dont flame me real bad.

yea mate, padded is good providing u get good hide and mins. I use my segs for making belts. There is almos NO HAM, somthing like 18/20/18 and u get 20%+ Stats on it for almost no ham. I got the guild smuggler to slice them on the w/e LOL, HAM is 6/8/6 ... i would recommned doing that, just my two cents worth
With rancor segs for padded, as with ne segs, u need to make sure u have 4 of same serial for the chest. the others u can make up as u go (still need to be same serial) but easier to find two segs rather than 4. so choose carefully when starting off

I am almost a master 4-2-3-4. I have been plaing with crappy mal resources. What numbers should I expect for Kinetic Layers, Adv Composite Seg, and Adv Ubese Segs.
base %
Special %
HAM cost

that is a very tricky question
and an almost congrats to becoming master (on valcyn too)
to kind of answer your question:
if you are making ubese: max your special protection on your kinetic layers, you should be able to get 12-13% without too much problems, maybe 14% if you have great resources. I put my extra points into HAM because you will hit 70% or so kinetic without too many problems. I do the same thing on the segments, some smiths put some into HAM but I dont see the point in ending up with 23% base as opposed to 20%.
if you are making advanced composite segs: there are two ways to make the 80% kinetic, I actually do both ways (kung fu vs kung fu light). For heavy 80% kinetic do this....(and points vary if you dont have extra xp points)......kinetic layers- max base, it will show up as 4%, but keep experimenting till you cant put extra points, there are hidded decimals. Then put extra points into HAM. (generic layers are 16/16/16, and I hit 11/12/11 with this heavy stuff). With three of these layers they are all 4% kinetic, depending on resources you may have to put one point on one of the layers into special protection. I end up with 68% base and 80% kinetic, you should be able to get similar with decent resources
light 80% layers look different......with my valcyn resources I max HAM first and end up with 3/3/3 layers. I get 2/3/2 if I wait for an amazing. I put one or two points into base and one or two into special, so my layers are 3% base 5-7% kinetic. If you are a 10 pointer you will need to put more points into special to hit the 80%.
so....either make light 80% or heavy high base 80%, you will have to play with your resoruces to see what you can do, usually most smiths pick something in between.
remember too that composite is different (if you are not master yet you may not know this). lets say you max base in your final combine and are at 65% base and kinetic is only 77%. When you experiment the HAM with remaining points, the special protection is also raised for some reason. This is the only armor that does that.

What is better to use Primus or Energy Layers.
I actually Grinded out AS post CU but Pre Crafter Respec. Made a Smuggler/AS to get the faction Armor. I have not really had a chance to get resources and play arround with it that much.
Was wondering whick makes the better armor and what are the plus' and minus' of each.
Any help would be appreciated.

I would assume Energy defense - like from say a Jedi lightsaber

For pvp I would recommend primus, to many varied weapons for energy to be good, even a lot of ranged weapons are kinetic.
