Most of the current player base won't quit unless they already had it in mind. I know I won't. Maybe bump down to 1 account, but I won't be quiting.

These things are never as bad as they seem.

It does feel that way doesn't it. To be sure they are gambling that they will pick up more players from the Episode III tie-in / new box release then the number of veterans they will lose.

They may feel like since we've stuck around so long already (many of us through the all the bugs and server downtimes at the beginning) that we'll continue to stick around no matter what. That its just in our nature to stay.

I've played other online games and this has been the only one I stayed with. If you don't count StarCraft and Diablo 1 and 2

Well - while I'm seeing fragments of things that concern me, or issues raised by players which are paid little or no attention - what really hasMY attentionis thecavalier attitude the Devs seem to have towards developing the CURB.

I mean - some of their responses appear to indicate that some of the changes they are making in the CURB stem from decisions made in a vacum with little or no forethought and little research.

The bottom line is - this has the appearence of looking as though the Devs are making decisions which affect yours and mine gameplay - with complete indifference to the concerns of players.

Take this thread for instance;

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=armorsmith&message.id=81613#M81613

Its about the number of organic resources required in crafting armour having been increased. The number crunching done by a player, and the results it reflected, are a perfect example of the type of thing that the Devs SHOULD be doing - before they start making changes to the game without appearing to have any regard for the impact of the changes they are considering.

To the Devs credit - when approached with this kind of stuff, they ARE taking a look at it, or some of it at least, and they do backpedal when appropriate it seems, and correct themselves.

So long as you make a calm, and well balanced argument for something they appear to listen - so all hope is not lost. Not yet anyways.

In any event, I appreciate what it is they are attempting to do, and while I may not agree with some of the changes they appear to be pushing - the CURB is not necesarily a show stopper for me. However, come May 5th and the subsequent days after - I will be reviewing how much I'am able to still enjoy the game in the way that I'am now.

If the post CURB version of SWG is adamantly group oriented and determined to invalidate players accomplishments and aquisitions up to this point, then I'd have to say that I for one will give some serious thought to pulling the plug on both of my accounts - as I'm sure many others will too.

Basically, some of these changes, that appear to have (and Ido stress"appear") - little to no consideration towards players concernsaregoing to cost them "loyal" players, whomwould have otherwise remained playing SWG had they not been so jilted.

While its hard to maintain an open mind - I'am hopeful that the CURB will go off with a minimum ofchanges offensive to the current playerbase.

I want to keep playing - but if the game is transformed into an experience that I can't enjoy as I do currently, well - I'll look elsewhere for my entertainment.

This is so true. It's sad that SoE has to leave this kind of experimentation for the players to do. It's as if the "Devs" just write the code based on some idea, but the players actually do the developing and testing. If SoE actually knew about the mechanics of their games, players wouldn't have to crunch numbers like this. The fact that players are left to do this number crunching is a testament to the fact that the Devs have their collective heads in the clouds about what they're trying to change. The Devshave some kind of ultimate goal they want to reach (which is all well and good), but they are neglecting and overlooking many of the steps needed to reach that goal.

I'll probably make armor for a month or so, just long enough to supply my guild and some friends, but with all these unneccessary changes to AS, it's just not sounding fun anymore.

Oh, one more thing...They can change around combat/crafting/leveling/etc, all they want, but the game still lacks content.
