Just so you guys know, this was put in to stop jedi from exploiting. In the new system a jedi wearing armor cannot use force powers. So to prevent people from using a force power, and then quickly putting the armor back on, this has been added.

Edit: Spelt "knew" wrong. Now changed to new.

You are sure this change is intended and not a bug?

No problem for me except that I planned to switch shirt depending if I use fencer weapon or rifle. If there will be a delay (and I guess it will since an Ubese shirt is armour) then I need to do something different.

To comment on the responses to my post...

Based on what I've read, this is what I think may happen. I don't read the Jedi boards too often, so I can't comment on the Jedi issues of armor delay.

I'd would say, that armor switching will still be a viable PvP option. But one with consequences. Right now, with buffs, a player can essentially spam specials and switch armor with little to no consequences. I think in the combat rebal, performing a special will have a negative effect, so that it will discourage players from using them recklessly. Now, same goes with armor, one can't switch armor recklessly, the player must weight the negative consequences of being vulnerable during the armor delay, vs. the added protection the new suit of armor will protect. In some cases, it might be wise to switch armors, in others, maybe not.

For those who played the game before uber 2k buff packs, 70% armor, even before 1500 tat sunburns, one couldn't spam specials, one had to figure out if it was wise to use their special, or wait, or use armor. I hope, and guess, that the combat rebal will change that.

Either way, especially on the first days of the combat rebal, I forsee an increase in demand for high quality armor that isn't composite or ubese. It is a gamble thou, and a decision on whether to craft the armor after or before the patch...which will be better? Either way, a smart armorsmith, might start gathering up resources for the "other" types of armor. As far as my combat character, I've been slowly buying some SEAs, mostly armor attachments, but before I installed any, I came upon the realization, and thus, I think I will wait to install them on any armor, until after the combat rebal. Because, I don't want to install them on a suit of armor, and then realize, that I don't have the cert for composite, or stun armor isn't as useful anymore, or I should be wearing something with less encumberance, or the best suit of armor is one that is made up of different kinds of armor, or, faction armor is the uber thing to wear (unless you got yourself a set of mandalorian).

Anyway, I look forward too the combat rebal, and hope that with it, comes an opportunity for a more diverse armorsmith market.
