So, once maxed (tapes and skills), a rodian wont be a better WS than a wookie?

My server is really lacking in WS so I was thinking about making one. Does the race matter? A couple of races have +10 weapon assemby, is this very important? How does this work? Thanks guys.

Rodians appparently have a bonus to weapon assembly, but the only danger with assembly was that you risked getting a critical failure and thus loosing all resources and components you'd used for the weapon. This was removed a while ago however, so assembly-bonuses are more or less useless now (there's no difference between "Great Success" and "Amazing Success" on assembly, and personally I can't remember the last time I had anything lower than "Great Success"). The only advantage to a higher Weapon Assembly-skill now is that it probably increases the chance of a "Critical Success" on assembly, allowing you to go higher than your resources would normally allow on the item experimentation, but those are so rare it's hardly even worth considering.
As a wookiee you'll be able to make bowcasters, something other races can't. The downside is you can't wear as many garments of clothing, and you're more restricted in the types of clothing you can wear, meaning it'll be more difficult to get your +20 bonus to Weapon Experimentation to become a 12-point weaponsmith. It's by no means impossible though, so this is just a matter of considering the advantage of being able to make bowcasters (which in my opinion is a really cool thing, but by no means a significant advantage). I suppose the same restriction to clothing applies to Ithorians, but as far as I know they have no advantage as weaponsmiths at all, so atleast they're the worst choice.
Human or Zabrak is probably the best choice since they can wear the most amount of clothing without restrictions. It's possible this also applies to Rodians, I'm not sure if they have restrictions on headwear, gloves or boots, but Human and Zabrak look a lot better than Rodians
Personally I'm human. I didn't know I'd be a weaponsmith when I made my character though, but even if I could go back and make a different choice of species I wouldn't change it.
