I would say it is because most people either do not givea hoot about hide unless you buy it for 50cpu, or because they don't grind Huurtons. Haven't hunted in so long, do maulers have wooly?

With a decent-sized group including lvl-80 players, you can pull Tusk Cat missions that yield lvl-80 cats. The drop rate on the hide kicks boo-tay, and a good group can get you more hide than you'll ever use.

I personally have a fantastic contact who runs a harvesting consortium, and I pay 10cpu for bulk - he can easily get me over a mil of a given hide if I wanted.

Yes I have an unfair advantage being from a server where everything and everyone can be bought. The drawback of that of course is the fact that a person with 10 million in the bank isn't even considered wealthy.

Only in a group of other Rangers. I went hunting with two other Rangers, one also a Master, and we did get 500k or so between us. But solo, no way. When I hunt in a group with others, I can get maybe 150k in a night.

Still, those numbers are high enough that I agree, anything over 20 cpu is just exorbitant. However, the prices seem to be set that high by the people who open the offers at 30 cpu, rather than the Rangers.

Yeah i don't know what you're talking about 500k. I have hunted 500k once, it took 4 hours with a group of 5 M.Rangers

A good night is usually 100k. On really good spawns a group of Rangers will get together and go out and hunt and pick up a lot. 50cpu is not overpriced if someone is willing to pay that, as a profession that is famous for marking up their items (I sell suits of armor for 500k/set and that's on the cheaper side on my server, it costs me at most 140k/set to make them) I would think there would be a little better idea of supply and demand. If the demand is there for 50CPU, then it's not overpriced.

I follow the "first in, first out"routine there. I'm actually not paying attention to swgcraft any more, as i get mails from one or another AS that there's good material the day it turns up there, anyways. If you also want to buy material, drop me a mail with what you want and how much you pay and i'll take a look into it.

As long as the price is fair and allows me to use my business model, i try to deliver to everybody, although i don't always manage. (Basically my business is simple, i "hijack" grinder groups and get lower level players with scout in their character into my group, then determine what to go for. For the peple who want XP it makes little difference if it's Bols, Gurks, Huurtons or Tusk Cats, one lv. 80 creature dies like the other and gives the same XP. For those who can harvest it makes a difference, i pay them between 60% and 75% of what i am offered but never below 10 CPU. So, while each of them gets a big share, my small share multiplies by all of them and looks really good... Due to the "never below 10 CPU" i can't offer this service for below that rate and would prefer a bit more so there's some money for me, too. )
