Although I should add as a counterpoint to myself, that I find it amusing they insist we take part in the GCW in order to craft factional armor... yet don't give us any defenses 
Guess that means we either have to buy our FP from smugglers or get it in space.

Personally as an AS myself. I dont much like this whole buying the skins for FP thing either. Or that bio imprint thing. There's actually a bigger market in used armor for newbs than most would think.
Ultimately I dont mind needing FP to buy the skins from recruiters for the armor. Though the FP costs for weapons/armor right now is a tad high. There's a reason crappy ST armor sells for a mil + right now. Cause it costs a smuggler 80 credits per faction point. And that 25 percent discount only goes so far.
Add in the AS's price tag? Damnr ight it's going to get more expensive. Takes alot of time to turn out armor. Likely abit more now with the skins (But I'm cool with that no worries. I'd prefer having the cores sitting around than a billion crates of different armor segments). That said however, it's not going to significantly jump the price of ST armor like RIS is. RIS you have to have a bunch of resources that doesnt spawn all that often, and when it does. It usually is total crap. Thus makes crap armor. So for good RIS. You have to get alot of of high end and extremely rare resources, then get a bunch of rare loot drops (Though now wollemander bones are rather common on Bria at least. So prices have dropped considerablly from the 300k per woolemander bone when I started. To 10-20k a pop on the bazaar, same goes for gurk king hide). GDK scales are still rare and bare minium so far on Bria pop on another 1.5 mil to your price tag.
ST Armor though. That'll pop on at most, no more than a regular suit of armor. So say your payin 300k for that nifty suit of high end, 68+ base composite. Well now you'll be paying what ever FP it is + that 300k. It's at least better than FP + X million. But yeah. it still kinda sucks unless they make the skins cost a hell of alot less.
Mind you these skin schematics are supposedly going to be about 10 use. Which means as an AS I'd say. Either Make the suit for free/discount to who ever provided the schematic if they wanted one suit. And left me with a 9 use schem I could then turn around and make a proffit on (And thus make back the cost of the suit they got for providing the shcematic) or some other such setup. I do this with imperial PSG schems all the time. Some guy wants a bunch. They bring me a 5 use schematic. I do a run and give them X# of completed PSGs. And sell the rest to make back the cost and make some proffit myself. And we all go away happy. (Usually I trade about 100 Imp PSGs for one schematic. Which leaves me with aproximately 1560 I can make money on. (One use of a schematic if it goes well at least. Will give you about 332 PSGs and on Bria at a cost of up to around 10k a PSG, and they'll sell for about 20-40k)
And for the imp PSGs all the person providing the schematic had to do. Is give me a schematic they get for doing a fairily simple, imperial only quest. That they can actually do twice infact.
