Don't even get me started on how lightsabers do 1/2 the DPS of any other elite profession weapon, when Obi-Wan sliced a guy's arm off with little to no effort in Episode IV, and cut Darth Maul clean in two with one swing in Episode I. I'm not asking for 1-shot kills, but when 4 Jedi take a few minutes to kill a Level 82 bantha - you're doing something very wrong.

its all about mass.. that guy that had his arm cut off had an arm about the size of a human arm. It took more than 1 or 2 hits for the same jedi to take on the acklay which is now a levle 82 creature. Those kashyyyk bantha are huge, I could see them taking 10 or so 'movie hits' to take one down. The look big and dumb, and dumb creatures always take forever to realize theyve been wounded. And if its going to take 10 movie hits then thats atleast 2-3 in-game minutes since everything in the movies are 1 hit kills. Look how many stormies went down at the hands of Han Solo in Ep4 using a BlasTech DL44. A weapon, I would like to add, that has a maximum charge of 25 shots. When you consider that almost every jedi can heal themselves practically on an infinite level and other elite profession are not so self sustaining it does even out. Granted your DPS is lower but there are _MANY_ areas in the game now where having jedi isnt just a good idea, its freaking mandatory. You are going to convince noone you are the minority when you're in an exclusive club practically required to just to participate in some of the games most dangerous places. Its not always about DPS. Sometimes its about the staying time. Since most of you dont have g/f's I dont expect you to know much about that.

So basically since the launch of the CU all the major, game breaking bugs with items are still around. What is itnow? Almost a month later? Every time I read patch notes they say that such and such item is fixed...but yet we are still talking about it (AKA Clone Armor and Holos). This doesn't even include regular armor. OMG, what have you people been doing?

All of these bugs were seen and noted in TC too. Ignored.

Basically people have given up on even submitting bug reports. I know I have. Why waste time on it when the only people who read the reports are those who can do nothing about them (other players)?

Could be that is the plan... Wear us down, till they release:

publish "3.14159265"

MAJOR UPDATE: Changed Princess Leia's dress from white to cream.

After which they proclaim:

ALL THE BUGS ARE FIXED! No one is reporting any!

The management of this game isn't the least bit serious about addressing the bug and balance issues with this CU monstrosity they inflicted upon us in anything approaching "timely". Timely as in how long a redwood tree lives maybe.

If you pull from converted crates now, the pulled armor will still have incorrect values and not have the refit script. If all goes well, the fix for this will be part of Publish 17. The fix should also correct armor that has already been pulled from converted armor crates.

There are 3 problems with armor pulled from converted crates:

  • Armor has incorrect general protection values. These values are lower than the value shown on the crate. In many cases the pulled armor stats are only 50-60% what they should be.

  • Assault and Recon armor do not have the proper adjustments to the kinetic and energy protection values.

  • The script to allow the armor to be refit is missing

I will chime in and say that Publish 17 had better be one HECK of a Publish, for every single profession in this game.

There are way too many issues to list, but many of them include problems with basic levelling of professions (Creature Handler, who none of you Devs have bothered to communicate with after you gated all of your NEW players from levelling to even Tier 1 - for over 3 weeks).

Entertainers are STILL waiting to have their elite professions of Dancer and Musicians actually DO something for being an elite master. Obsolete Musical/Dance Mind Enhancement skill mod should NEVER have hit Live servers.

The CU Publish was the one time when quality seriously mattered on a Publish. And you guys dropped the ball, big time. I certainly hope that all of you have the capacity to realize how upset you've made the playerbase. You won't see a massive drop in player subscriptions immediately, but you likely WILL see a gradual decline in the game's population. If you intend to have SWG survive the fall and winter, I suggest you reinstill the playerbase's faith in you, because your sloppy and shoddy code you threw onto Live (and followed up with minimal changes) has disillusioned many. Make no mistake, you have betrayed the trust many gave to you with making the CU the quality that it needed to be.

Many veterans came back, as they said they would, to try the new SWG. Unfortunately, many saw the same old buggy SWG they left, but in a new form, with new bugs, and some more severe than when they left.

This game deserves better.

And, how the Dev team goofed up something as fundamental as crates of armor, I will never understand. Never.

So when does this publish go live?

Message Edited by blazse on 05-20-2005 10:03 AM

well the last official publish # was 14.1 back in march. If we assume that the CU brought us up to 15.0; then your looking at another month before 17.0 maybe?

ROFLMAO .. well after seeing ep3 and how easily the jedi are getting owned up by clones that were genetically engineered to be gullible; I guess the post-CU jedi are inline with their new role of cannon fodder. Especially if you are a twi'lek jedi. I wonder how much they paid the actress to dress up, walk 10 feet and then fall on her face.

Very well said. I agree and feel the same way. Couldn't have said it better myself. Quality control seems to have been non-existent with the CU.

When was the last time that you paid $15 to play a game that was in Beta? Thats not our job. Perhaps the CU shuold have stayed on TC for another month of 5 till it was a game, not Beta.
