just thought id note that the condition experimentation on segments and cores IS WORKING. you dont get much... 1-2k, but if you bump cond to 50% or so you will see a difference. (yes i ground out double amazings lol... nice to have 50k cond padded though)

A couple things I want to add, One pertains to what I quoted above. In the "Alpha Test" there were also Maurader variants for Assault and Recon to go along with the Battle thats in game now. So I'd ask where these are as well as where is Craftable BH armor.



Another thing that has allways annoyed me is certain armor pieces of the same type of armor (ie Ubese) seem to be on diffrent color palets.

A few comments/idea's from Mithral


Why Is Epic Armor Not Epic?

Let’s face it. RIS and Mandalorian suck when it comes to being epic. Sure, they get super high condition, but 50k extra condition is not worth the price tag or the effort involved, period.


Suggested Solution: Open for discussion.


RIS - Crafting / Epic armor


I. Allow the use of the interwaven schematic say let that add +500 to +1000 to Standard Protection, that should at least revive the Geo Cave other then those hunting for the Lizard deed in the first room. I would have to say that there should be a hard cap a 10,000 on armor.


2. Allow the Armorsmith the ability to desidewhatCore to put into RIS - Assult, Battle, reconnaissance or just fashion piece that would remove it form being armor(provided by a Master Tailer), what code is it to collect something that you can't use. This will open up the RIS prize up to all professions and players.


3. I have to agree that the decay rate needs to drop by 70% to 80%, I know I charging alot for any of the armor I make and the players are making a huge investment and should have several months of hard core playing per piece of armor. How rich do use armorsmith need to be, lol


4. Would still like to open up some form of Protection Experimentation, say ad a standard line and a special line and let us monkey with 500-1000 points in total, at least we willfeal like we have some effect on thecrafting.



Armor Repair


What’s the deal with this? Is this working, random, whatever? Do the Armor repair mods even work, along with Armor kit efficiency?


Suggested Solution: Make Armor repair based on three things: Armor repair kit condition, an “Armor Repair Mod (already in game)” and remaining condition on armor.


Also the fact that an armorsmith is making the repair, we should get big bounes when we repair armor as well.


-Lack of Variety In Loot Enhancers


Have you taken a look at loot enhancers lately? They all do the exact same darn thing. Add health. Yay. Too bad I can cap the health per piece easily. This is an incredibly irritating issue for many of us. Why exactly does every enhancer do the exact same thing?


Suggested Solution: How about some other enhancers that do things such as raise resists, raise condition, make armor look different than generic armor of its type (shoulder pads, decals, insignias, etc)


Loot drops are the life blood of this game, its what drives alot of elite players out to play the game, there needs to be alot of work done on fixing what gets droped and when, I am still waiting for the Loot drop revamp, at least from the armor crafting side of things, the +XX health stuff was thought up by a 2 year old, this needs a complete rework.


We need stuff that effects condition, protection and look and if you do restore the use of Bio fit reinforced fiberpanels then give use loot drop armor cores with random bounuses.

If something is not done as far as condition decay then I say restore the Full use of ADK on Armor, there is a limeted supply of those so they will not have a huge effect on the over all economy. And that will preserve the best of the best stuff.

good stuff caile, esp with the more looted components... i love playing whith those added things ;p


i agree armor dies too fast, a bit more cond would be great. also, the multi area armor really needs tobe adressed, im glad the did the wookiee suff, Chest plates on my alt used to go by so fast.

very nice post caile ... but 3 things missing:


1) whereare the marauder recon and marauder assault armor schematics that were on TC?


2) why we get tailor crafting xp crafting armor boots, gloves, belts, bandoliers, ubese shirt?


3) can the devs raise a bit the xp gain on armors? its horrible hard just with Master AS to grind the FS crafter lines up... and im craftingALL armors handmade... and just got even in 5 days crafting not the AS crafting cap ... which is 5:1 converting ... im not filling the 1/6 of the FS crafting box...

Well, I could be wrong, as I haven't really played around with health enhancers yet, but as I understand it, you can add health enhancers to the segments (say, for example, a +9 in one, a +11 in one, and a +13 in the third = +33 total for the core). This would be fine for an arm piece, as it only requires one core, you just add a +17 or better feathered armor enhancer to the final combine, and you have the +50 cap. However, if you need to make a chest piece, helmet, or leggings, and need identical cores, if you made 3 identical +33's as described above, the total for cores in the final combine is still only +33 (not +99 for the chest, +66 for helmet/leggings), which would be fine on a 9-piece suit, but in Caile's proposal, it wouldn't let you hit the +150 Ubese or +250 Marabi chest piece. i.e. Segments stack, cores do not.


Please correct me if I'm wrong, and if I am... I profusely aplogize for the confusion.

Nice post Caile


I would like to add:

. the component "too damaged to use"syndromhappens most of the time on last charge of a stack, death is not related imo.

. marauder assault & recon schematics would be nice adds for us and for customers.

. a slice can go over the 60%hindrance limit (with adv assault cores from krayt dragons for example),

thatruins an high end armor piece and it's very painfull when that happens with faction armor.

. faction armor is very good for immersion but way to expensive for customers to bio-link,

they are ready to invest a lot of cash in a suit but sometimes simply can not afford it ...

Agreed with above specially #3 - I am Armorsmith due to enjoying it, I do not do factory runs, my vendors are stocked with multiple colors and all types. I am also trying to complete the FS tree for crafting, and yes I know its my choice for templates but I want to enjoy the game as much as possible - meaning level 55 combat and MAS - maybe in 3 years or so I might finish a branch or two for FS.


Decay needs to change


Basic and Standard Cores - someone please correct me if I am wrong, but for noobs I tried to make a few cores with low Hindrance and using the same uber resources for Advanced I got almost the same Hindrance for Basic and Standard but half the protection - makes no sense - get 2800 protection (around 25%) but hindrance is 25% also - what help is that to Noobs?


You would think it would be 2800 protection with 0 hindrance -


Also, I noticed that when reviewing on the vendors it doesn't reflect correct Hindrance - only what the armor is rated at - how does a person know what the actual hindrance would be for their level?

Excellent post Caile


One thing I would like to expand on that I think someone else mentioned was an idea was making RIS be able to take any core. Expanding this for for all epic armors - mando as well would make the epic armors useful again. Having mando as assault never sat well with me and many others. Another idea would be to give mando and RIS lower hinderances for the same protection compared to non epic armors. A slice would push up resists without adding hinderance then.

Armor currently is not worth buying or making imho. Too much in order to do what needs to be done while the end user benefits are garbage. The satisfaction of making armor is not there as there is no experimentation persay.


AS needs a revamp yet again.
