I'm in the same boat with you Ittov I paid arround 40 mil too, arround 40 mil seems to be the going price on shadowfire, but that was before things kinda got out of hands with the buyout prices.
Seems like we've had a wave of new 'smiths who have an ungodly amount of money from being a doc / weaponsmith / etc.
Even the resource prices are inflated now. If I was in it for the money, and not the craft, I'd dump it all and probably walk away with a few hundred million extra.
I do my best to keep the resources prices in check and so far I have been fairly successfull.
Trick is when something good spawns advertise a lot about it so that a huge amount is harvested and the offer becomes superior to the demand.
Right now we have godly Dant berries and Kamris Iron that shifted in last week end and one day after kick ass duralloy steel shifted in. We clearly were in a case where we could have had a huge price hike on the steel because most crafters couldn't harvest everything at the same time and they would have to buy a lot of the steel.
I posted I was paying 4 cpu for the steel the day it shifted in and wanted 1.5-2 millions units. The day after several others crafters posted they wanted to buy millions of units too at 4 cpu. Clearly the situation was getting bad. So I took my survey tool out and went to find good spots and posted the wpts on the forum. Right now there are maybe 100 heavy harvesters on the steel for me and I have already notified the others crafters I will resell my excess at the price I pay it which is 4 cpu...
So we will be fine on the steel and I doubt it's price will ever go above 10 cpu in the next 10 months....
Valcyn's best polysteel copper spawns was 8 months ago ( it's 99% of the theoretical stats) and the price hasn't raised much past 10-15 cpu since then because there really really was a tonn harvested....
And finally even with high resources prices it's not so hard to make a 200-300% profit on armor...

I'm not talking about current spawns. Shadowfire seems to have a very odd spawn system, where we get literally nothing on stuff like colat iron, beryllious copper, and crism ore for months, and then get a surge of shifts all at once. If you miss that surge, burn thourgh your stocks in between, or nothing of good quality spawns during that time, you're SOL.
Kinda hard to do anything to the price or old stuff - take our beyrllious copper, for example. We haven't had a shift with an OQ over 800 for almost a year now. Even though people mined the hell out of it, it's getting extremely rare to find any more good beyrllious for sale these days.

soo, 49 mill and 5000 credits total for my +20/+7 suit on bria. I've been really lucky in the pricing, the first +3 I got for 5k was in the second month of the game, picked it up off a vendor. The +5 belt I consider the price fairly cheap considering I got a +7 assembly along with it. the 3m +3 I found on another vendor, was a +3 exp/+3 something else, which may be why the price was only 3 mill. The +3 for 5m was a buyout in an auction 3 or 4 months ago before there was a huge armorsmith population explosion on bria driving prices up. And the +4 for 16m was when I was advertising with offers of 4m a point in an attempt to finally finish my suit, and it worked. And the last two +1's were found myself while afk'ing. I'm a meatlump murderer.
so 49m to finish the exp suit, and start the assembly suit. I've been offering 1.5m a point for assembly tapes with no bites, I might have to up the offer to 2m a point if I want to get anything.
If things dont fall into place any time soon I might have some for you. I'm not going to start a rant session here.
