I think its marketing yes.. Location could be but marketing is the big one. Create deals and incentives etc..

I usually offer repairs gratis but I kinda like this idea. Might charge nothing for fails, something nominal for reduced condition like 2k and 10k for a complete restoration.

I remember when I first broke 1 million. Thought I was the richest person ever. That was back when I was a master rifleman and sold krayt goods.
Now I have to give my credits away just to get under 1 million.

If I advertise near my shop, I will get 5-6 million a day, all suits 400k and under... if I don't advertise then about 1-2 million a day
I go overboard though, I have over 500 suits stocked and for sale, and plus I offer krayt weapons made by my friend, so I get additional clientale

I broke into the business with relatively low priced ubese which I advertised on my trade boards. That generated income for further ventures.
I think my first ubeses were 70% and sold for under 60k. So folks learned where my shop was, etc. I had gotten all the materials for these myself including hunting the organics with my alt, so everything was pure profit. My shop is in an out-of-the-way corner of the universe, a player city on Dantooine. But I'm the only smith there, and I have a lot of repeat customers. I used to sell out of ubese and used that as a rationale for raising the price to the 100k a suit for 76% that I now charge.
My ubese customers now buy composite, which I also sell somewhat below market at around 300k a suit for 69%. I do a reasonable volume, and some of the other smiths have even dropped their prices. I'm not a 12-point smith yet but I probably will be within a week or two.

How is that possible with the new item limits on vendors? I'm limited to 2750 items (3004 merch) and I hate it..

yes, the bag doesnt count, but the items inside.
i think a master merchant can hold like 5000 items, not sure about it, but if so, composite has 9 parts, 500 sets are 4500, so its possible to stock 500 suits.
or he just offered them pre-nerf
i just made some mabari, lol 150 suits to be exact
53% heat, hehe, not useful at all, but maybe some people like it, i guessi am set with these 150 for all times, lol

Generate aprox 50-90 Million a week in sales..
Produce 500-700 suits in a week 80/80/70 12pt Master 50 Factories
Resources enough for 20,000 suits (Legit hiring many mining firms to accomplish this. *3cpu)
I sell for 130k ea suit.. These suits are sold in crates of 25 (bagged) to resellers who disperse them around the galaxy. They also mark my product up to aprox 250k ea.
I stock the leftovers on my vendor usually around 100 suits in peices for 260k total..
Worth.. You really dont want to know..

2. Find a niche: Do not try to compete with the 12 pointers in making the most uber stun pvp armor. Make grinding kinetic pve armor. The pvpers will want the best no matter the cost but the pve grinders will give up a few percentage points if the armor will save them money, especially if they go through more than a few sets which also means more sales.
I made good ubese on Interpid when I started- no one else made it at the time so thats how I made the $$$ to buy my tapes. IMO dont even try to make composite with 10 points- there is no way u can compete. They can use crap resources and still beat ur stats for the most part.
Just focus on saving for those tapes- smith may just be part time until then.

That's excatly how I did it. Only I was one of 3 MAS on the sever so could charge 150k for my ubese. The other 2 only made composite and I hadn't been able to collect the resources for that yet.
Now there about a dozen of us.
