Too Damn right. I'm A rifleman and i can't wear a full set of composite without getting totaly buffed.
The strain on our mind pool is just too imense.
most time you end up killing yourself through mind drain 8(

encum matters man..............trust me.....i hear it all the time
The people that say encumbrance doesn't matter are the ones who are armorsmiths first, and combat players second (if at all). Encumbrance does matter. Given the choice of a suit with 50% less HAM or one with 3%-6% extra base, I'd choose encumbrance every time.
It's not just about the mindencumbrance either. Sure, with decent doc buffs even 1000/1000/1000 armor won't get in your way of spamming specials. It will, however, ruin your health and action regen, and with most dedicated combat players dropping novice medic to pick up more combat skills you either need good regen or a medic on your hip at all times.
FWIW, I was over the outrage over the proposed changes before they were pulled. I had stopped speaking out against them. Ididn't much care if they went live or not, because I had done my homework andfigured out how to survive as an 11-pointer with great/uber resources.

You have to be joking, with the new BE foods encumberance doesnt make the blindest bit of difference in the end. Just take a couple of brandies and top up with ahrisa until the HAM cost drops as low as you want it. Even with 1000 mind encumberance you can reduce the style costs for rifleman to zero using just BE food.
Rolling this change back doesnt help armour one bit in the end game, all that happens now is we end up with the same old failure rates on stuff made with loot items and armour that is actually worse than what was potentially possible with the changed system.
Armoursmiths with the resources to make better stuff with the new system will do just that and any new smiths will be unable to compete. Will be nice to see all this new super light layered composite made using layers/segments from the new system and armour pieces from the old. I wish the devs actually had the balls to carry through the changes, now they are just going to leave us with even more stuff that cant be beaten within existing crafting system.
Rifleman? Try being a carbineer and burning 450 action everytime you use full action auto special. 2 of them and i'm dead. HAM does matter!
Inoch,
Master AS of Wanderhome
ok lets say it simply:
if you use armors
if you don't use buffs
if you dont use food
then quit the game you are not a combat class.
whatever the combat class you play with armors effectiveness sliced, buffs and food you will NEVER lose action mind or health while using specials.
Iplayed all combat classes (melee or ranged one) even CM and doctor before the chef revamp and yes there were problems with ham and special moves but that was MIND problems. But stop thinking like old ladies the game has changed with chef revamp and now you don't f. care about the ham cost of special moves cause with high strength quickness and focus you lose like nothing. Add the insane regens of high stamina constituition and willpower and you can hit your specials all the time. Vasarian and vagnerian is the answer for mind problems.
so lets say it again: HAM on composite is bull**edit** just find a doctor every 3 hoursand a chef every month and you are set.

You guys do realize the crafting change would have affected chefs the same as it would armorsmiths right?
You guys keep saying just pop and uber brandy...well that brandy would no longer exist either.
Also a little known fact apparently is that with this patch comes a significant change to doctors buffs, in that the random factor is going to be lost. Yeah no more 900 buffs. Well also no more 3k buffs. We'll see shortly just how important encumbrance is.

to all you people saying HAM don't matter just neck some BE brandy and BE canapes...
NOT EVERY PLAYER IS A MULTI MILLIONAIRE
NOT EVERY PLAYER CAN AFFORD TO BURN 100'SK CREDITS ON BE BRANDY AND BE FOODS,
NOT EVERY PLAYER HAS ACCESS TO MASTER DOC BUFFS WHEN EVER THEY WANT
The way some you pendejos talk makes me sick, it is like you are only catering for the power gamers and that only powergamers should have fun playing this game, Well you can kiss my entire ass.
Casual players play this game as much as l33t wannabe dickheads like some of you. They too should be given a chance to still enjoy it and have fun.
I think those players than can afford 2 buy 2 500k suits in the shop can afford the be brandy...
As for the others I do sell lighter composite at cheaper price...

come on none of the whiners actually tried the new system.
and yes that brandy will still exist and will even get better i know a few chefs waiting for today to make schematics like hell.
yes the buffs will be better i'm waiting for the server up to make schematics.
alll the blah blah was because people THINK it will be that way.
I hope massive people run tests today and prove all the morons wrong.
Your being a jerkVigeant. There are better ways to get your point across instead of just calling everyone names.
I for one am looking forward to the one day I do get to play with the patch. Hoping to make some uber schematics to sell off after they hotfix it.
Use it to your advantage instead of being an @ss about it.

Also, if you think about it, this patch would had hurt the economy for a bit.
People like me that have the best AS resources thatspawned on the server would be the only one's putting out real good armor, and all the newb AS would had been screwed.
Yes, new good spawns would have came, but how long till they did? I was for the patch for the simple fact that my armor would had been better with more amazing results.
I was making some armor the other day and noticed how many times I was already getting amazings, especially on my last slot. These last slot amazings would be freaken uber as hell because the cap would had been gone.
All I have to say is I'm glad I just made schematics instead of making all the armor. Some how I figured it would go this way.
Being a Mon Cal Droid Engineer & Carbineer, I bought my suit of
comp armor to help me out when I'm in a pinch. Low HAM's are a
must.
Plus, you shouldn't expect to have to go running around looking
for Doc buffs just so you can put armor on. That's just stupid.
I do keep food on me to help with the HAM costs, but my armor is
relatively low HAM. It was nearly impossible to find. Lucky for
me, AirCartman makes a series of low HAM stuff all the time.
Otherwise, I would have been screwed.
The uber-resist comp is only for powergamers/PvP'ers. That's NOT
a majority of the game.
At least, it didn't used to be...
