a lot is name recognition too

I (my alt) runs an armor mall wiith 16 armor vendors. There is an RIS vendor. There are usually 9-30 peices on there at once. Even if there is only 4-5 peices, they know who to contact for a special order and having some difference colors up there to choose from is nice too.

I was selling RIS 18 months ago so people know who they can contact. I have had an RIS vendor for over a year as well. Other smiths could make better stuff and have a more difficult time selling it if they are not known, or their shop isn't well known

owem my friend, ... you make decent stuff ... but the problem is that rah'bert and i make like 6535 kinetic/energy stuff and cost only a little more than yours. price is one thing but as RIS is a ADK thing, people who are willing to ADK everything will pay that little bit extra for the extra bit of condition.

it depends on how much u need the money but i see a fairly decent set with 6400 ish across the board on auction for 9.5m atm (corbantis trade forum). play with the price but i have to say, there isn't a big market for RIS on our server.

In response to Ydloo and Firehammer...

If I'm correct I believe Ydloo's RIS is unlayered, where as Firehammer's is Layered. Layered armour seems to be a lot rarer on Eclipse (and naturally more expensive to produce).

As for why you have trouble selling it Ydloo...I think a LOT of Eclipse people that want/wanted RIS were able to get their own components or suits made before the CU when the GDK Scales started dropping like mad. I do get the feeling tho (and am pondering trying it myself) that RIS would sell a lot better off a vendor...people just seem reluctant (impatient?) to wait for their armour, even if it does mean they can customise the colours.

In regards to Ydloo, dude ur selling that stuff too cheap. 5mil for a set hardly covers cost. Ur cheapening the RIS by whoring it out at 10% Gross Profit.

I sell about 2 suits a week. I just keep one suit on my vendor at a time and it'll sell in 2-3 days, regardless of color. I will tell u this, Primus Layered RIS sells the best.

IM selling 10 to 20 suits a week. The key for me, was having the customers come to me with all the required items. They bring me the gdk, the gurk hide and harrower bone. In turn, I assemble with my layered cores for 600k. The basic cost of the cores is only a little over 200k for a suit, so im making a 400k profit for using cores I would have had to use otherwise. They are happy because they dont have to pay outragious prices for armor that is no better than padded or marauder.

Some will say the condition is what makes ris worth it, and to a point they are right, but my other battles are getting 51 to 60k condition, so its not that big of a change really.

I still sell the occassional full suits of ris, but when I do, I have no trouble getting my asking price of 16.5 mil.

i have a feeling that our economy is somewhat different on our servers but 600k per set if they bring u the stuff seems very CHEAP to me! i charge 17.5m per set or 9m for assembly that is 1m per piece per set, if they do just a helm or whatever i charge 1.5m. the condition does go right up to 97K plus.... pls bare in mind that although RIS is becoming more common, they are not suppose to cheap and for everyone. it'd be nice if the smiths can keep it this way by holding out for a decent price.

i saw someone selling for 5m per set ... 5m is what some of my fellow smiths are charging for their factional armor rebels ... i might add coz they are losing, but ....

The thing is this. Cores are fairly cheap for me to make. I harvest all my resources, so that cuts costs down even more. Allthough I do agree that RIS would be nice to remain rare, its just not going to happen. RIS is no better now than marauder, with exception of the higher condition. So in essence, you can thank soe for it becoming more common. Heck, it use to be that the gdk were rare, now I must have over 100 of them. And am now turning people away. I just think, that if I can keep my overhead down, why not give them a deal of 600k for it. Heck, in a way, im keeping it so common, that instead of adk'ing it, they might just be willing to return for more. At least so far thats whats been happening.
