However, when you make composite armor: putting experimentation points intoresistance will do nothing, putting them into quality will raise both the special protection and the base resistance. Also, the updating of stats after using points is bugged. Guess that's what makes it confusing.

it's also a design issue...

The NATIVE special protection can be raised easier than Effectiveness when making the armor.

Effective protections that have moved to Special protection due to layers/enhancers do not share this trait.

Hello All,

I need some wisdom dropped on me. I'm sure this has been asked before .. but what's better?

-80% Special Protection?
-90% Sliced Effectiveness?

I'm looking for a direct mathematical answer I think. I'm building a set of RIS and plan to use Anti Decay on it and insert some uber AA's ... any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

All special protections mean is it can't be touched by a slice, no mathematical mosters hiding in the shadows and underbrush. The better the % the more it will protect

Yep, a percentage is a percentage. With RIS, you cannot change the fact that 80% kinetic is the best you can get becuase it is in special protection and cannot be sliced. So 80 kinetic 90 base is the best resist you can get with RIS. Now, if you used a krayt scale for some reason, everything would move into special protection, nothing would be slicable, and 80 percent is the best you could hope for on any stat.
