well as far i know armor decays the more dmg it absorbs. like if u absorb 100 or 500 dmg it decays at 500 more of course.

and the geno cave isnt a blurrg and the mobs hit harder, dont they? so u absorb more and the armor decays more

i might be wrong but i think that and the fact wookie armor covers more then 1 composit part makes it decay faster.

imo the wookie armor should have given a higher condition first of all, since it covers more and also is only choice atm for wookies.

well, these sets dont cost as much as some of the non-wookie sets. 30-130k is what i have seens so far. my armor drooped to half during one day of TKA grinding, but then again u take alot of beating then.

personally i dont have any problems with this as i have several sets, but not every wookie can afford it. but thats like it it is for every species in this game.

armor repair tools are my new best frind

I was just thinking about this the other day. A lot of people who purchase and wear ubese have learned through experience that the jacket wears out much faster than the other pieces do to covering the chest (most commonly hit area) as well as two other hit zones. Most of the customers I deal with are aware of the fact and often order an extra jacket with their orders.

Now you have wookie armor and ALL of the pieces cover more than one hit zone. You have the chest piece which covers four hit zones (head, chest, l. bicep, r. bicep), the bracers which looks like it covers 2 or 3 hit zones (I am not clear how the game handles hits to the hands since in all other armor types, the hands are a separate hit zone but in the case of wookie armor you have two seperate pieces overlapping coverage on one hit zone), and if the feet are protected you have the leggings covering two hit zones (legs and feet).

As far as resources go, wookie armor is fairly light on the amount of resources required, but this seems to be balanced by the fact that the armor wears over very fast. All I can recommend to our wookie friends is to either ordermultiple suits and be prepared to change them out quickly or to NOT slice them if they are concerned about the accelerated wear that their armor suffers since slicing makes it wear out even faster.

Also, as others have pointed out, the amount your armor wears out is determined by the amount of damage that is passed through the armor. Thus, the armor will lose less condition when up against kinetic damage but will decay at a higher rate when used against the other damage types like energy or blast. I realize at this point in time wookies really have no other option when going up against things that use damage types other than kinetic, but wookies should be made aware of the consequences.

Wookie armor requires a relatively small amount of resources compared with some of the armor types, but this seems to be balanced out by a higher rate of decay than other armor types present in the game. I suppose this is also one of the built-in drawbacks for wookies who decide to wear armor since it looks like the current armor and the next type of wookie armor share a similar setup.

Ok first of all Please read the Description on you Armor.....

It's says Kashyyykian Cerimonial Armor. It is a BASIC armor. it is not meant to be used in the Genosian Caves! that is an Advanced Dungeon. Kinda like me going into the Geno labs with a set of Chitin, The armor just isn't designed for this kind of abuse. and when you get hit for 1k-2k per hit, with only 50% vs Kinetic your not only taking a beating, your armor will be worn out faster than you can say Kashyyykian POS cheap crap armor. ANother thing you should notice is after your armor gets under 50% the Resists start to lower as well. this is no big deal if the armor is successfully repaired, but if it's only a moderate success the reduced stats will be kept, so keep that in mind.

2nd, Do yourselves a favor and quickly peruse the floated thread, "Armor and Armorcrafting" here in the AS forum. it has a detailed explaination of how armor resists work as well as how it takes dmg and decays. and don't start complaining, yourgood armor is coming in the next 2 sets. just be patient, you'll get your Composite or at least Ubese counterpart by publish 8 i'm sure. It's only to your benifet to be versed in the ways of armor because if your ignorant, you will get robbed by the countless greedy Armorsmiths. Also it helps in advanced if you know what you want and what color etc. I've served over 150 Wookies since the release and none of them knew a thing about armor or colors or resists or encumberence etc. most didn't even know they could wear PSG's, thinking that Wookiee's are plain out not allowed to wear any armor whatsoever.

Finally, REPAIR your armor sooner rather than later, i've personally reccommend 50% cond or there abouts as repair time. Artisans make the repair kits, Master Armosmiths have best repair results. It's never guarenteed that it won't fall apart, but I truely Believe a master Armorsmith has the best chance of everyone else to repair the armor.

Well I went hunting with my wookie armor on dantooine for a 4hr stint did Pickets, Bols, Quenkers, hurtoons. And only lost about 1200 pts in my armor. It just depends on whats hitting you. My armor is 57% kinetic with a 26% base so obviously since im fighting kinetic based creatures my armor is going to decay less since its geared towards that....

I just bought my set of armor on tuesday. I hit the geo caves last night and I died twice going through there and was there for a good 2 hours. In my time there and deaths my armor only dropped 2k on the chest and 1k on everything else. So I'd have to say that its bug with the armor. My armor is 45%/25% on the chest and 40%/23% on everything else. BUt if it changes then I will be investing in armor repair kits tonight.

Hmm...sounds interesting...I will have to ask my wookie buds how theirs is holding up. However, if you need repair kits, Ihave 100% ones and crates of them so send me a /telly or in game email. One of these days I will send myself the wp to my vendor to my work email

I am curious as to the stats folks are getting on Corbantis. I can hit 43% Kin and 21% Base with +3 Assembly and +8 Exper with the mediocre resources I had for my first sets.

Thank you to all that responded. I'm sorry if I came across angry, guess I was initially. I believe I understand more about how armor absorbs and decays, but it still seems illogical to me. Logically speaking, I can see armor decaying faster as it absorbs more damage, not allowing it to pass through. However this game is not built on logic, rather marketing, so we have what we have. Either that, or this is an extreme case of a fluke, I dunno. Guess I should just outfit my furry friends with 4 suits a week. Here's to hoping wookiee armor in the future is better.
