I've gotten up to 65% with advanced chitin. I think the only material used with an OQ or SR under 900 was the doonium iron for the segments.

I've finally hit Master Armorsmith, and have continued my experiments. I am now able to experiment the special resistance line fully, and end up with 63% Kinetic 18% Base Chitin. The Kinetic is as good as bad Ubese, but the base and number of other resists are lower. I feel I should be able to press it up to 65% Kinetic with über materials, then will need to have some sort of enhancement to get it even better. A couple of amazing experimentations would help too with getting the base up.
Now to find out what enhacements can be put in chitin armor, then to make a set of lovely chitin for my wife.

I was able to hit 63% Kinetic with the resources I have. The segs are sitting in factory, once I get around to it, I will finish the sets. I have most of the main pieces done.

i have been looking into some Chitin armor and it seems that 60% kinetic and 18% for the others is the general stats, i happened to stumble upon some great Chitin armor segements from the Geo cave that give 40% base and minus 10 encumbrence from the HAM (those numbers aren't exact cause i can't get on right now)... so what would a suit look like if i used those enhancers?
