Then it's:

Stat1 + stat2 + stat3 / [total number of stats] = average.

Not stat1 + stat2 = average.

do you know how to configure your interface to show you the average between the 2 stats on resources?

crtl+0

then the interface tab

then check overall quality and shock

then you will get the numbers i listed above

There is no magic number on segments in order to get cores to max out.

For instance, I have 968 on recon segments and barely max out recon cores. The culprit is lokian leathery.

Then, I get 931 on assault segments (without using my best polymer or iron). I max out assault using many 2nd best resources. The hero this time is Dantooine Wooly.

In other words, the hide hasa huge influence on armor.

more specific still....What do your cores need to be to cap? 5XXX

My first unlayed piece came out to 5349/5349

Got a few better resources, 2nd piece was 5609/5609 with 902 segs

am running 918 segs now.

My Beyrllius is killing me though. I can't find any worth a crap on Sunrunner.

this question brings me to my own conclusion after doing a bit of research. I am trying to spread out the little remaining of the best ever polymer... this is on my assault cores mind you. I have come to realize there are no hard and fast numbers that you have to hit with your segments to cap your cores, it is a mutually dependant relationship between the two to get the cores to cap. I am now able to cap my assault cores using 924 segments or any combination of segments that total 2772 or more. Through my playing around with different segment resources I have completely eliminated the need to use my treasured polymer at all in my assault segments and I couldn't be happier

I was in same boat.... savin my last 3 stacks of 928 oq/sr poly, time to burn my 4m 917oq/sr lol... you have to get inventive with the other ingredients though.

And this my friends is what seperates the real armorsmiths from the weekend warriors.

Experimenting unlayered cores beyond 5600 GP is wasteful. You get a +400 bonus during the appearance stage, so anything over 5600 will cap.

That will come out as 6000 then. Any coreover 5600 will hit the 6000 cap for unlayered final armor. You can also look at as anything over 5600 is a waste of resoruces.

Note: Use one primus layer to compensate for poor segment or core resources. Using a 30k resource deed is a waist in making armor!!!!!!!!!!

What is all this about caps?

My buddy on Flurry regularly makes armor that hits about the 7k mark unlayered.

Whoever said the cap was 6k should rework their numbers. That's just the point where the diminishing returns really start kicking in.
