They should redo marine armor into the armor the crew of the corvette in the opening sequence of episode four was wearing. I would love to have those pillbug helmets.
Technically, those are the Alderaanian Security uniforms. Now as for why many of the Rebel NPCs wear them, that's totally beyond me.
I'd love for that outfit to be a Rebel armor, though, as well as the ROTJ helmet that used to be a reward from the Rebel Themepark.
Pfff alderaanian security. Vader and his boys cut through them like butter.
Well, according to a certain princess, they're "peaceful" and "have no weapons."
You'd think they'd have learned from Naboo. Claim to have no weapons, then jump em with your shiny spaceships and cool little speeders and militia.
i wanna know what it is with the helmets in this game the hats too!!!! you either have a bug head or a pointy one in the end.
but yea alot of the armour is well geeky lookin. Maybe it looks better in the movies but it looks well poindexerish here thats for certain. There are folks out there that are IMp just because of that stuff.
The cone-head helmet has to go. Replace it with the Alliance hat that all those rebel troopers died with at the beginning of Episode 4: A New Hope.
Armorsmith Wars
Episode 1: The Armorhole Menace
Episode 2: Attack of the Composites
Episode 3: Revenge of the Bugs
Episode 4: A New Hope?

If they were just Alderaanian, (which I'm not doubting some book says so somewhere), isn't there a bunch of people wearing them at the rebel medal ceremony in the temple at the end of episode four? I thought there were, but I'm at work and can't check real quick (so be nice to me if I'm wrong! :smileywink

Well, I don't think that helmet would work with the Recon armor. We'd need to change at least the colors of the rest of it.

WARNING: STAR WARS GEEKDOM AHEAD!
Hmm, good point about the folks in the Massassi Temple awards ceremony.
The folks killed by the Stormtroopers at the beginning of ANH definitely were Alderaanian (Tantive IV was an Alderaanian consular ship), but that doesn't mean that their outfits and helmets were specifically Alderaanian in nature. Thinking about it a bit more, the Naboo RSF seem to have had similar "pillbug" helmets as well in TPM. I believe we see a few Alderaanians wearing them during ROTS. Heck, if you play KOTOR, the Republic troops wear a helmet that is very similar in design.
I guess what we could draw from this is that the "pillbug"-style helmet was somewhat common for security forces and perhaps other soldiers and combatants throughout the Republic. Therefore, limiting its use to "overt" Rebels would seem to be inconsistent with the canon. Not that going against the canon has ever meant anything in SWG, but it's worth noting.
I would love to see that particular helmet, along with the Endor strike team's helmet, as craftable armorsmith items available to everyone to wear. I'd say that the "pillbug" helmet would probably be a good generic battle helmet, while the Endor helmet would work for recon.
