I've been using one on TC. It takes the Ranged attacks of all the creatures I've run into. They are all energy now. Problem is, all creatures use mele if you are close enough. I does nothing for you then.

All I know.

I think I saw that the resource usage was staying the same. But uses OQ/CD for the recharge rate.

Does the condition last longer? Also does its charge go down with damage or after a certain number of hits?

Sorry for all the questions just havent had time to log on at all let alone get on the test center

i would imagine condition lasts longer since regen is the primary degenerative stat and then condition is more supplementary... it should be much longer then it is now... however being one shot doesnt test much

Well having fiddled with one on TC since I was getting sick of the 1 hit incaps right at the frogs I yankedo ne and tossed it on. They take 3 hits. Then 'pop' to regen. From what i understand the regen at least on the frogged PSGs is 5 minutes. In those 3 ranged attack hits. It asorbed practically no damage. And the condition dropped 1 point after the shield 'poped'.

Way it seems to me is every time the shield is poped it'll loose 1 point of condition. There is another thread somewhere or other in the AS forums that covered all this actually. But it's likely burried a ways back.

Hey Kesslan, Mutt Jorgath here. How long does it take to power up the PSG? Also, can you make a recurring PSG switch macro, so you're auto-cycling through the things?

Looking through some of the old information in the original strategy guide, it looks like this was how PSGs were originally intended to work.

A lot of the time we try to compare in-game situations to real life but this seems to be one of those times when it really does make sense when compared. A 'shield generator' should be an item that needs to power up, create the shield and then power up again. It also seems that the shield should only be protection against an energy blast coming from a ranged attack. The PSG creates a protective shield, not an impenetrable shell.

This seems to make sense.

Well when I put the PSG on for the first time I got this nifty littel effect which is obviously stolen from one of the force powers just with some of the effects removed. (I noticed this after one of the guild jedi last night did force meditation or somet such thing I'm not quite sure what power he used. But the effect you get putting on a PSG is idnetical to one of the visual effects put out when used said power) After that I pomprtly got aggroed while I was poking about one of the blue frogs and shot at by some thug. Without the PSG those things normally kill me in about 3 hits when I'm healing myself. With the PSG it took 4 with me healing myself. Some minor difference at least. but not a whole hell of alot. As for a macro I dont know. I'm honestly didnt bother to try. It may well be possible. But I certainly wouldnt ever survive long enough as a non combatant to test out the viability of it.

Eek. Hey, at least it blocked 33% of the damage! That should help us get to our harvesters on Dathomir, right?

No not really. Most of the time when I've been attacked on dath it was melee attacks from mobs that didnt show up on the radar till they were behind me and KD/Dizzied me etc from about 100m away due to lag. Or those nightsisters that like blowing up your bikes etc.

Also keep in mind This was NOT dathomir I tried this on. This was plain old tatooine. So there isnt realy much of a level mutliplier involved. It was some level 3 or 5 mob attacking me. Not a level 100 or what ever the hell they are on dath.

I don't even think things like poison spit that spiders are even covered under ranged damage (my jedi doesn't block these with his saber... so I can only assume).

That is the damage I saw it absorbing. The have revamped that stuff under the hood so...
