Having been in software development since the 80's and having been a consultant since '91 I can say that I have worked for a lot of different management styles. One style is milestone or date driven. This seems to be SOE SWG management's style. Part of that may come from restrictions placed on them from Lucas. Given the size of this release and the intergration nightmares it involves along with the Ep. 3 date coming I can understand the agressive testing schedule.
There is a saying however that deals with this type of date driven releases... "you want it bad, you get it bad."
The best we can do now is organize a list of concerns and try to get the questions answered and the issues resolved. For me the biggest issues are the 12 point nerf and the resource requirements. But look what happened to to Shipwrights. In JTL beta there was one set of resources. They changed in live. /CrossesFingers

Agree on their style. There is a truism in software development that exist in most things in life.

You can have it cheap and good, but not fast.
or you can gave it good and fast but not cheap.
or you can gave it fast and cheap, but not good.

I would say their style tends to be the third one.

they are rushing due to the wookie expansion. my Feelers sence they want to have the new system up and going before the expansion, in hopes of the influx of people. and in relation to that, anyone that does leave the game cause" they just don't like CU", are replaced by another. Over all it's about time. IF I was part of the dev team, I'd have waited on the crafting profesions. Our area, if for any reason did need tweeking, could have been after the Expansion. The combat doesn't affect us "too much" minus the change in stats and encumberance. but those would be easy fixes to us under our current system.

btw; love that truism :d
