Thanks for the in-depth post. Lots of good ideas here.


I will say that wearing said cat4 armor and fighting in it are different, when unbuffed. Also, non-humans that max some stats out at 400 will not be able to wear that, even sliced at max encumberance.


More and more, I wish I have picked human instead of Rodian. The armor thing is just annoying.

Great Thread. I'm not a new master, but have been master for about 3 months now. I constantly find myself wandering to other armorsmith vendors to see what it is they are making - mostly out of curiosity. I've been making unlayered composite that can be worn by most species without buffs, unsliced (having a twi'lek character, I have a vested interest in that). That seems to be my money maker. Occasionally, I'll sell a tank suit. I have to wonder if I wouldn't sell more of those if I put about 20 of them on my vendor (hence the browsing of other vendors). After reading this thread, I guess it really comes down to two things. What the armorsmith thinks is important and what the customer's think is important. Anyone tired of making composite just hasn't looked into all the different ways to make it! I'm going to enjoy being an armorsmith for a good long time

Yeah (regarding tank-ish armor)...seems to be what the people want, and most want multiple sets to get better chances of high-effect slices...and price doesn't seem to be much of an issue


I agree that pandering to the PvPcrowd with nothing but tanked armor gets pretty boring, though. It would be great to have a good variety of effective armor...but it's just not there.

Good post. I do think we need some kind of armor explanation for customers. The armor Guide is a bit lengthy for most people to read through. One thing to note is that different armorsmiths can build vastly different types of armor- there is quite a bit of variety out there, even among composite.

yeah...earlier on (prioir to going AS) I would have liked to see descriptions more so than numbers. The numbers are great for us, but can be very discouraging to those not "in the know".


Too bad most non-AS's don't even get to see what the construction screens look like...and thus can't begin to imagine the process.
