Lets not forget that resource stats don't matter anymore. You can use anything now and it will come out the same.
Huh? You serious?
Yep, that's how it's working for WS at the moment. Maybe that's just the way it is for testing, but crap resources do the same thing as uber resources right now.

NVM, they patched it this morning and it seems to be working now.
Whats the point in armour having different types of protection (and layers!) if there are no damage types?

Perhaps you can confirm this, but weapons no longer than a damage type right? Surely this is proof that armour being 'unchanged' means that its because they just haven't done it yet, not that they are leaving it as it is?

Damage types are still there. Buisness as usual, main damage type kinetic or energy and eventually (depending on the weapons) elemental.
The thing that disturbs me most about this thread, is people seem happy that armor carfting is staying the same. It got so royally dorked up in the CU, I was hoping for added complexity. A "fix" perhaps?
To make matters worse, you are no longer able to retain a master crafting prof and combat prof.Currently, you can at least explore other aspects of the game. Unless of course you have points invested in FS....or are able to function with artisan level vending.
The death nell began for me, when I was unable to move until I released almost a full line of swordsman, just to hold on to the other 3. Shortly after, cloning at the Science Outpost.
The camel's nose entered the tent when perma-death was removed. Looks like the tail is almost in now.
Take a look back several months....or maybe a year. Reread the patches. It's all there. The path has been fairly strait. Only a few small detours that fixed a few bugs.
